My Return to Mabinogi Mobile, a Mobile RPG That Works Well in Short Sessions

What kind of mobile RPG still feels worth playing, even in a short session?
This time, I returned to Mabinogi Mobile after quite a while away and tried it out for myself.
From here on, I plan to log in lightly for around 30 minutes to an hour each day, make some quest progress, and spend a little time appreciating my pretty character too. First, on my first day back, I set myself a 30-minute goal and started by looking around the late-summer event.
The attendance rewards I picked up right after logging in

The very first thing I did after logging in was collect the attendance rewards.
Several events were running at once, including “Remembering the Summer We Spent Together,” Late Summer Attendance, and Welcome Back Adventurer Attendance.

It was nice to be able to claim rewards as soon as I came back. That said, since the events were spread across several different places, it took a little time to get a clear sense of everything.
There were also plenty of missions I could complete naturally just by playing, so I decided to take my time with them instead of trying to finish everything at once.
Doing quests at the beach and taking a few photos

The next event I joined was “How to Spend a Cool Summer”.
I spoke to Surfer Rick at Colhen Beach, then prepared and brought him 10 Herbs, 5 Click Fireflies, and 3 Grilled Meats. It was an easy quest to work through while doing a bit of gathering and cooking, and the reward was an Epic Alchemy Reburn Catalyst.

After finishing the quest, I took a commemorative photo as well.

There was even a photo booth nearby, so I tried taking a solo four-cut photo too.
Saving little memories like this with a pretty character is part of the charm of Mabinogi Mobile.

At the Romantic Beach Stall a little farther away, I could trade Summer Coins earned from hunting for various rewards. The one that caught my eye was the Printing Shirt Selection Box, which costs 200 coins.

Out of the friend outfits for Nao, Calix, and Rona&Pan, I am, of course, planning to get the Nao T-shirt. I think it would go nicely with the dolphin pants I am wearing now, so it gave me a small goal to work toward.
Ending the 30 minutes with fireworks

Waiting by the campfire

When the time came, people started gathering

That day, I logged in at around 3 p.m., and there happened to be a fireworks show scheduled for 3:30. I spent some time looking around the beach, then stayed to watch the fireworks when the time came.
Because it is a timed event, it is not something you can see whenever you want, but luckily it lined up perfectly with my login time. After doing the event quest and taking some photos, it felt like a perfectly good place to end the session.
Wanting just a little more, I moved on to the main quest

But when I was actually about to stop, I wanted to keep going a little longer, so I continued with the main quest. The part I played next was Goddess Advent, Chapter 5: “Light and Darkness”. Seeing Nao again after so long was still a pleasure, and the story about uncovering Dragonhood’s conspiracy was interesting too.
In the end, I played for about an hour total that day.
While progressing through the main quest, I also naturally completed my daily missions and some event missions.
From here on, lightly and at my own pace

The one drawback I noticed on my first day back was that the event structure felt a bit complicated. If the rewards and missions were gathered a little more neatly in one place, I think new and returning players alike would find them easier to follow.
Even so, this time just logging in for a short while, looking around the beach, and taking a few photos was enjoyable on its own. From here on, I am thinking of spending about 30 minutes a day on the main quest, picking up daily missions whenever possible, and playing a little longer when I feel like it.
If you like pretty worlds and characters, and enjoy preserving memories through screenshots, then this may be a nice way to enjoy Mabinogi Mobile too.
