30 Minutes with FC ONLINE: How Much Can Returning Players Get Out of It?

[This post was created as part of NEXON PEAK activities.]

Hello, I'm 꽤돼.

You might expect an online football game to require a fair amount of time per session, but FC Online is easy to enjoy at a relaxed pace even with just 30 minutes or so.

You can play one match at a time, and if you're returning after a long break like me and aren't sure how to build your squad, Quick Squad lets you get straight into a game.

Having just returned to FC Online after some time away, I decided to set a 30-minute timer and see how much I could actually get done.

Starting a 30-Minute Session as a Returning Player

For this test, I started the 30-minute timer as soon as I launched the game.

It had been a while since I last logged into FC Online, so my session started a little differently from how it would for a regular player.

As soon as I launched the game, a roster update began.

Rather than just wait, I checked the available event rewards one by one while the update was running.

Once the roster update finished, I also collected the various rewards available to returning players.

Perhaps because I'd been away for so long, there was more to claim than I expected.

After collecting a fair number of rewards, I checked the timer again: I had about 25 minutes left.

Straight into the First Match with Quick Squad

When it came time to play, I realized I'd been away so long that I wasn't sure how to build a team with my existing players.

So I used Quick Squad this time.

New and returning players can use a 50 million squad provided through an event right away. That let me get into a game quickly without checking each player and rebuilding my team.

It's a handy feature if, like me, you're returning after a long break and just want to try a match first.

After choosing my squad, I went straight into the first match.

Since you can play FC Online one match at a time, it's a good fit for a match or two when you're short on time.

When I checked the timer after the first match, I had about 14 minutes left.

That was more time than I expected, and it seemed enough for another match. Before queuing up again, though, I checked which rewards I could claim.

Opening Rewards and Playing One More Match

After the first match, I collected the additional event rewards available to me.

With the returning-player rewards as well, there was more to open than I expected. I opened some player packs along the way and sorted through my rewards.

After opening a few things, I checked the timer: I had about 10 minutes left.

That seemed like enough time for one more match, so I chose a different team in Quick Squad and played my second match.

Playing with a different squad from the first match highlighted another benefit of Quick Squad:

I could try different teams right away without choosing all the players myself, which I appreciated.

When the second match ended, I had 2 minutes and 24 seconds left.

There wasn't enough time for another match, so I spent the remaining time sorting through the players I'd received.

I listed the players I didn't plan to use from my rewards on the transfer market and collected the proceeds from those who had sold.

By the time I'd finished, my original 30 minutes were almost up.

Here's a chronological breakdown of what I did during those 30 minutes.

Time Remaining

What I Did

30 minutes

Launched FC Online

About 29 minutes

Roster update in progress

About 27~25 minutes

Claimed event and returning-player rewards

About 22 minutes

Set up a squad with Quick Squad and started the first match

About 14 minutes

Finished the first match

About 14~10 minutes

Claimed additional rewards and opened player packs

About 10 minutes

Started the second match

About 2 minutes

Finished the second match

Last 2 minutes or so

Sold players and collected the proceeds

Rather than testing this as a regular player, I spent 30 minutes in FC Online as someone returning after a long break.

It was my first day back, so I had a roster update to get through and spent a fair amount of time checking the available rewards. Even so, I managed to play two matches, open player packs, and sort through my players at the end.

Quick Squad was especially helpful because, after so long away, I wasn't sure how to build my team. Being able to load a team straight away and try a match made it easier to settle back in.

Of course, I might have fit in a little more by spending the full 30 minutes on matches. This was how much I managed at a relaxed pace, with time spent claiming rewards and opening player packs as well.

If you don't have much time to play on weekdays, or you're returning to FC Online after a long break like me and just want to ease in with a match or two, a session of about 30 minutes seems like a good option.

That's all from 꽤돼.
