MapleStory Daily Routine: How to Make Chores More Manageable and Enjoy the Game

[This post was created as part of Nexon PEAK activities.]

Hello, I'm 꽤돼.

MapleStory has plenty to keep track of, from daily quests to weekly content, but my approach is to finish only the dailies I currently need as quickly as possible, then spread out weekly content by doing one type each day.

This keeps tasks from piling up on a single day and avoids spending time on content I no longer need for progression. It makes the routine considerably more manageable than you might expect.

Here is a breakdown of the daily MapleStory routine I follow while developing my Ren on the live servers.

Use the scheduler to focus on the dailies you need

The character I am working on on the live servers is Ren.

As you progress in MapleStory, you steadily unlock more daily quests that reward Arcane Symbols or Authentic Symbols.

I used to log in and work through every daily quest one by one, but now I use the Maple Scheduler to track and complete only the quests I need.

There is no need to keep doing dailies in regions where my symbols are already maxed out, so I remove those from the scheduler and focus on regions where I still need symbols.

Daily quests in Arcane River and Grandis now require defeating only 100 monsters per region, so finishing dailies takes much less time than it used to.

For characters like mine whose symbols are already fairly far along, I find it easiest to tidy up the scheduler once rather than check every region at each login.

The June patch added a sweep feature to Monster Park, allowing you to clear it once and receive rewards for the number of sweeps you selected.

This has also greatly reduced the time I need to spend on repeated runs each day.

After dailies, do one weekly activity at a time

Finishing my daily quests does not mean I do all my weekly content that same day.

If I have time left after dailies, I usually pick one of the remaining weekly activities in the scheduler and complete it.

Each Arcane River special activity now requires only 1 clear per week, so there is no need to do them all at once.

These include Erda Spectrum, Hungry Muto, Midnight Chaser, Spirit Savior, Ranheim Defense, and Protect Esfera.

For example, my routine looks like this:

  1. Check the scheduler after logging in

  2. Finish the daily quests for the symbols I still need

  3. Complete short daily activities, such as regular Monster Park

  4. If there is time left, complete one type of weekly content

  5. Complete a different weekly activity the next day

Rather than setting a fixed number of minutes to play each day, I find it easier to think in terms of doing just one weekly activity after finishing dailies.

Doing all my weekly content in one day makes that session longer. Spreading it across the week lets me work through it a little at a time during my usual play sessions.

I also save longer weekly quests, such as Epic Dungeon, for the weekend.

Schedule group content separately

Unlike content I can start on my own, anything that requires party play usually needs a separately arranged time.

I used to be in a guild and often coordinated with guildmates. I am not in a guild now, so I arrange a time with friends on KakaoTalk, then play together.

Including group content in my daily to-do list can make it harder to plan when to log in.

I find it easier to finish my solo dailies and weekly content first, then schedule content with friends separately for a day when we are available.

In MapleStory, it can seem as though the amount of content you need to do keeps growing as your character progresses.

In practice, though, taking completed content off your list and spreading out weekly activities makes the daily workload lighter than you might expect.

As I progress with Ren, I follow this approach: remove dailies for maxed-out symbols from the scheduler, finish the dailies I still need, then complete around one weekly activity each day.

This is especially helpful if you have little time to play on weekdays, or if you have returned to the game and the number of tasks in the scheduler leaves you unsure where to start.

I recommend beginning by separating what needs to be done every day from what can be done anytime during the week.

Rather than trying to finish every task in one day, I do only what I need today and spread the rest across the week. That is how I keep MapleStory enjoyable without it feeling quite so demanding.

That is all from 꽤돼.
