Participating in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge

When I first started Mabinogi Mobile, I honestly never expected I would stick with it for this long. I assumed most RPGs would feel pretty similar, but Mabinogi Mobile turned out to be a little different.

More than a game that made me feel like I had to finish everything in a single day,

it felt like the kind of game where, if I chipped away at things whenever I had time, I would look up one day and realize my character had steadily grown.

Collecting runes, enhancing equipment, and setting gems made the growth system feel less rushed and more like the quiet fun of putting things together little by little, 

and on top of that, there was something romantic about playing the music I love in such beautiful scenery.

Those things became the reason I kept coming back to Mabinogi Mobile. 

① The fun of growth, filled in one step at a time without rushing

The biggest reason I kept playing Mabinogi Mobile was that I could set the pace of progression for myself.

There was very little pressure to keep up with every bit of content perfectly from the start. Collecting the runes that went into my gear one by one, equipping gems, and carefully raising my combat power made the whole process itself feel like tending a garden of my own.

Instead of pushing me into an intense race to boost my specs, the system let me grow a little stronger at my own pace, which made the game feel much less tiring. After finishing the day’s routine, I could take a short break to gather materials and work toward my build little by little, and that kind of progression gave me a sense of accomplishment that felt entirely my own in the middle of a tiring everyday life. As I built up my specs bit by bit like that, my affection for my character naturally deepened before I even realized it.

② Beautiful scenery that never gets old, and the romance of performing

If progression had been the only thing I enjoyed, I probably would not have stayed with it this long.

One of the biggest reasons I kept holding on to the game was its charming cartoon-style graphics and beautiful in-game scenery that never seemed to wear out their welcome. Rather than going for overly flashy 3D visuals that strain the eyes, the game has a warm, cozy style that made simply wandering through the field feel quietly healing.

Before long, I found myself spending more and more time adjusting the camera angle and taking screenshots with sunset hills or the nighttime view of a peaceful village in the background. When I placed my character—styled exactly to my taste—into a lovely scene and played a song I liked, it brought a different kind of satisfaction.

So whenever I come across a pretty spot while playing Mabinogi Mobile, I pause for a moment and play music I like. Maybe that is why the game feels less tiring, even after playing it for a long time.

③ The perfect kind of healing that pets and My Home bring

Mabinogi Mobile has such a strong lineup of everyday content that it rarely leaves room for boredom. From the simple joy of raising and bonding with cute pets to the My Home system, where I could decorate and shape a space of my own, it made the whole experience feel wonderfully broad.

Whenever I wanted a short break from hunting, I would spend time looking after my pets or stop by My Home to place furniture and tidy up the space.

Because the game thoughtfully includes healing content that feels a bit like tending to a small life of your own—beyond the constant goal of getting stronger—it created a solid foundation that let me stay in this world for a long time without getting tired of it.

④ In the end, the games you stay with are defined less by what you 'have to do' and more by what you 'want to do'

The thing I came to feel most strongly after playing Mabinogi Mobile for a long time is that games we stay with do not necessarily need some grand goal. I keep playing this game not simply because I want to make my character stronger, but because there is the joy of growing slowly, the joy of taking in beautiful scenery, and the joy of playing music I love. And there are also places to pause and breathe, like the pet and My Home content.

Mabinogi Mobile has become a place where I can spend time alongside my character and build memories that feel entirely my own. 

And that is why I log in to Mabinogi Mobile again today.
