[PEAK Challenge] It’s okay even if it’s your first time~ Why I keep coming back to Mabinogi Mobile

Taking part in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge

I had tried starting RPGs a few times before, but it always ended the same way.

They were enjoyable at first, but the complicated systems and demanding progression would eventually make me log in less and less,

and in the end, I never stuck with them for long.

But Mabinogi Mobile was different.

I started casually, and before I knew it, it had become a game I logged into every day.

Looking back, I think that is because it opens the way forward step by step, making it easy even for a complete beginner to settle in naturally.

If someone asked me which game I would recommend to a first-time RPG player,

Mabinogi Mobile would be the first one that comes to mind.

① A lighter first step when you start with a friend

When you start an RPG on your own, it is easy to feel worn out quickly because you are not sure what to do first. That was usually my experience too.

With Mabinogi Mobile, the friend referral event made the beginning much more enjoyable because I could work through goals together with someone else from the start. We talked about our progress, helped each other when we got stuck, and before long, I found myself naturally settling into the game.

At first, I was mainly there for the event rewards. But after running dungeons together and exploring new areas, I started looking forward to our time playing together even more than the event itself.

Thinking back on it now, if I had started alone, I do not think I would have kept playing this long.

② I kept playing because progression never felt blocked

One of the most frustrating moments in an RPG is when it feels like your growth has stalled.

In Mabinogi Mobile, the level-up support events and growth support rewards kept coming consistently, which made the early game much easier to enjoy. Because equipment and resources were given at the right times, there were not many stretches where I felt forced to repeat farming just to keep moving forward.

That made it easy to keep wondering, “How much stronger can I get today?” Since progression flowed naturally, I found myself trying new content without much pressure, and on many days, instead of logging off, I would think about doing just one more thing.

③ A guide you do not have to go searching for

Surprisingly, one of the things I liked most was how much could be handled inside the game itself.

Even when I came across content for the first time, there was an in-game guide with videos ready to go, so I could understand it quickly without needing to search elsewhere. Following along with actual gameplay footage felt much easier than trying to learn from text alone.

In the past, whenever a new system came up, I would usually search online first, but in Mabinogi Mobile, most of what I needed was already available in the game.

④ The assist feature that makes Mabinogi Mobile feel less difficult

At first, I assumed direct control would be more fun, but for repeated hunting and movement, the assist feature was far more convenient. Because of that, I could focus more on the content and story instead of worrying about complicated controls.

Of course, more difficult content is still enjoyable to play manually. But for everyday play, using assist most of the time and taking direct control only when needed suited me best.

If you enjoy RPGs but have felt put off by difficult controls or the barrier to entry, I think Mabinogi Mobile is well worth trying at least once. It was also the first RPG I had stayed with for this long, and I think that is because the game gives beginners room to adjust one step at a time.
