Participating in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge

I had tried getting into RPGs a few times before, but it always went much the same way.

I would enjoy the early stages, but complicated systems and confusing progression would eventually leave me logging in less often.

In the end, I never stuck with them for long.

Mabinogi Mobile was different.

I started playing casually, but before I knew it, I was logging in every day.

Looking back, I think it was because the game eased me in one step at a time, making it easy to settle in even as a newcomer.

If someone asked me which game I would recommend to a first-time RPG player,

Mabinogi Mobile would now be the first that comes to mind.

① An Easier Start with a Friend

Starting an RPG alone can quickly become tiring when you are not sure what to do first. That was always my experience, too.

Thanks to the friend referral event, I enjoyed working through goals with a friend in Mabinogi Mobile right from the start. We shared our progress and helped each other whenever we got stuck, and I gradually found my footing in the game.

At first, I was playing for the event rewards. But as we ran dungeons and explored new areas together, I began looking forward to our time playing together more than the event itself.

Looking back, I do not think I would have kept playing this long if I had started on my own.

② Steady Progress Kept Me Playing

One of the most frustrating moments in an RPG is feeling that your progress has stalled.

Mabinogi Mobile offered regular leveling support events and progression rewards, which made the early stages much easier to enjoy. Equipment and resources arrived at the right moments, so there were few stretches where I felt forced to do nothing but farm.

That kept me wondering, “How much stronger can I get today?” With progression feeling so natural, I was more willing to try new content. Increasingly, I found myself wanting to do just one more thing rather than close the game.

③ Guides You Do Not Have to Search For

To my surprise, what I liked most was being able to find most of the help I needed without leaving the game.

Whenever I encountered unfamiliar content, in-game guides with videos helped me understand it quickly, without having to search elsewhere. Watching actual gameplay and following along made it much easier to get comfortable than reading text-only explanations.

In the past, my first response to a new system was often to search the internet. In Mabinogi Mobile, I could find answers to most of my questions within the game.

④ The assist Feature Keeps Mabinogi Mobile Approachable

At first, I thought controlling everything myself would be more fun, but the assist feature proved much more convenient for repetitive combat and travel. It let me focus on the content and story instead of worrying about complicated controls.

Of course, taking direct control is still enjoyable in more challenging content. But using assist for routine play and taking over only when needed suited me best.

If you enjoy RPGs but find the controls difficult or the barrier to entry intimidating, I think Mabinogi Mobile is worth trying. I had never stuck with an RPG this long before, and what made the difference was having the time to settle in, one beginner-friendly step at a time.
