[PEAK Challenge] Vindictus Return Guide for Your First 3 Days: Why Now Is a Good Time to Come Back, and Which Order to Follow for Hero’s Path and Leap

PEAK Post Challenge Week 7 Bonus Mission · #다시시작하기좋은게임

The first thing I did after hitting the return button was not buy gear or open every menu I had left untouched. I started by separating the character I wanted to continue from the character I needed to relearn. In Vindictus, that one distinction alone cut down a lot of the first-day confusion.

Based on the Korean live service · Checked on July 30, 2026 · The Hero's Leap event runs until 9:00 AM on September 10, 2026

Start with a one-line distinction.

If you want to relearn the controls with a new character, check Hero's Path. If you want to continue your existing progression after level 115, check the current event, Hero's Leap. The names are similar, but the entry conditions and purpose are different.

Why does it feel so complicated at first?

When you log in after a long break, mail, events, growth goals, gear, and sortie notices all appear at once. It is easy to stare at the screen thinking you will lose out if you miss even one thing, but in practice, I did not need to understand every menu on day one. Just choosing a character and replaying one stretch of combat naturally made the next step clearer.

It can feel even more overwhelming when you start because there are so many systems. But that also becomes the next goal, and Hero's Path and the Leap system I have been using lately made it enjoyable to build up my specs quickly.

What made it feel easier was not that the game skipped every step for me. It was that the game now has ways to show what you should finish first. So instead of focusing on a maximum-efficiency guide, I organized this post into a simple order a returning player can follow just three times.

Start by separating Hero's Path and Hero's Leap

If you are relearning with a new character: Hero's Path

According to the official guide, Hero's Path is a combat-focused growth route that characters created after the December 18, 2025 maintenance can choose after the prologue. You pick either story progression or Hero's Path, and once you choose, you cannot switch to the other mode.

Hero's Path is designed to take you through Seasons 1 to 3 in order and reach level 115. It gives combat instructions and skill guidance tailored to the character, and skill acquisition and rank increases also happen automatically. Since it provides exclusive gear and level-range status effects, it works well for players who want to get used to a new character's controls again.

There is one catch. While progressing, functions like enhancement, polishing, enchanting, spirit fusion, and manual skill learning are restricted. If a button is missing, it is better to assume Hero's Path is limiting it rather than that something is broken, and just finish Hero's Path first. Also remember that when you complete Season 3, some exclusive items from earlier seasons are removed and converted into final rewards.

If you are continuing after level 115: Hero's Leap

At the moment, Hero's Leap is a limited-time mission-based feature that supports growth from reaching level 115 up to the battle “False Confession.” It runs from June 18, 2026 to 9:00 AM on September 10, and you join by selecting one character at level 115 or higher per account.

The missions are split into growth, sortie, and town categories, and you can move to the needed battle through the Recommended Play feature on the screen. The official notice lists the main support rewards as a Wadne weapon and leg armor, gear rank-up materials, and +13 level 115 accessories. In some cases, if you have already met the condition for a mission, you can claim the reward immediately without repeating anything.

There are also a few points to watch. A character that has received gear sharing cannot start it, and gear sharing also cannot be applied to a character progressing through Leap. If you have not decided which character you want to carry through to the end, it is safer not to confirm right away on the character selection screen and to check the reward preview first.

The first 3 days back that I recommend

Day 1

Choose just one route

First decide whether you are continuing an existing character or relearning combat with a new one. If it is a new character, read the difference between Hero's Path and story progression after the prologue, then choose. If it is an existing character, only check the level, equipped gear, limited-time item expiration dates, and any ongoing events.

You do not need to open all your mail and event rewards. If your inventory fills up, new rewards get mixed in too, which makes it easier to lose track of what you actually received.

Today's finish line: choose one character to keep playing

Day 2

Repeat just one combat section

Check only your basic attacks, smash, dodge or guard, and one or two active skills you use often. Before trying to raise your damage quickly, it helps more to get back the feel of reading an enemy's movement and dodging once at the right time.

If it is a Hero's Path character, follow the character-specific guide on the left side of the screen. If it is an existing character, start by adjusting your hotkeys and camera in a lower-pressure battle. If you switch between several characters at once, it takes longer for your hands to get the rhythm back.

Today's finish line: clear the same section a little more comfortably the second time

Day 3

Add one next growth goal

If you are level 115 or above, look through the Hero's Leap reward preview, Recommended Play, and the growth, sortie, and town missions in that order. Claim rewards for missions that are already complete first, then do just one battle you can enter right away.

If you are still below level 115, equip the supply gear from the character growth goals first. According to the official guide, supply gear can be used from level 1 to 115, so there is not much reason to rush into buying intermediate gear.

Today's finish line: leave yourself a one-line goal for your next login

What to do now and what can wait

Decision What to check first Why

Check right away Character and growth route Hero's Path is only for new characters, and you cannot change it after choosing.

Check right away Supply gear and limited-time items Before buying intermediate gear, first check what support gear you already received and when it expires.

Delay by a day Enhancement and enchant investment If you spend materials and gold before your target gear is decided, it is hard to undo.

When needed All events and daily tasks On your first day back, your combat feel and one next goal matter more.

The parts that got easier and the parts that still need care

Why starting again feels easier

Hero's Path lets you learn each character's combat style in order.

There is supply gear up to level 115, so you do not have to worry as much about intermediate gear.

Hero's Leap Recommended Play shows the next battle right away.

Some missions you have already completed do not need to be repeated.

What still needs a careful read

Your Hero's Path choice cannot be undone.

Hero's Leap has a time limit and character participation requirements.

Depending on gear sharing status, Leap participation may be restricted.

If you try to check every menu on the first day, the number of systems will wear you out again.

Check note as of July 30, 2026

After the July 23 update, there was an official notice about an issue where some Hero's Leap missions were marked complete without actual progress. A developer message said a fix was planned for the July 30 update. At the time of writing, I had only confirmed the notice about the planned fix, so please check the latest patch notes before logging in to see whether it was actually applied. The notice also said that rewards already issued from incorrectly completed missions would not be removed, and duplicate rewards would not be given.

Questions people often ask before coming back

Can I use Hero's Path on a character I made before?

No. According to the official guide, only characters created after the December 18, 2025 maintenance can choose Hero's Path after the prologue. Existing characters cannot be converted to Hero's Path.

Do I need to buy gear before level 115?

First check the supply gear you received through the character growth goals and Hero's Path. The official supply gear guide says you can enjoy combat from level 1 to 115 without buying separate gear.

Is Hero's Leap permanent content?

The version of Leap currently confirmed is event-based content. It runs until 9:00 AM on September 10, 2026, and the participation conditions, missions, and rewards may change in the next round.

What if I get stuck again and still do not know what to do first?

Instead of opening more menus, pick one battle to finish today. After you clear it, leave yourself one line about the stat you want to raise next or the mission you want to do. Your next login will feel much lighter.

In the end, one thing is what kept me going after returning

Vindictus still is not a game with a menu count that feels friendly to first-time players. When systems that have built up over time all appear on one screen, there are moments when you want to close it again. But once I picked one character and followed just the next goal shown by Hero's Path or Leap, that complexity slowly turned into a manageable to-do list.

I still think steady play helps growth the most, even when it feels a little bothersome. At the same time, I do not think consistency should mean clearing every single task. It should never feel like homework. The important part is to enjoy it slowly, like a game. If you finished one battle more comfortably today than yesterday, that is enough for your first day back.
