Titles do not shine like equipment, and earning one does not suddenly make combat easier. Yet the title window brings together the battles you have just fought and the things you have yet to try, all on one screen. That is where the appeal of collecting titles in Vindictus begins.

The First Page of a Collection Note

A title notification appears briefly after a battle, then disappears. At first, it is easy to think, “I earned another one,” and move on. But take a closer look at the list, and each title feels less like a nameplate and more like a short combat record of the enemies you have faced and the conditions you have overcome.

That is why I think choosing just three titles that catch your eye today feels more in keeping with Vindictus than trying to collect everything from the outset. It gives you a small reason to log in again, rather than a chore that demands repeated battles.

Three Things to Know About the Title Window

Search

You can search by keyword for titles you have earned or know about, and filter the list to show only those with permanent effects.

Keep Goals in View

You can save titles you often use or want to earn to your favorites. Some also let you go directly to the relevant battle.

See Your Collection's Progress

You can check the cumulative total of permanent effects and unlock up to 21 title colors to choose from, depending on how many titles you own.

This is more than a menu for choosing a name to display. Search helps you find your next goal, favorites help you remember it, and cumulative effects and colors give you a visible measure of what you have collected. The process and its results come together in the same window.

Start by Filling Just These Three Slots

Something Nearly Finished

Choose a title whose requirements you have already mostly met. It is a good way to enjoy completing a collection goal in a short amount of time.

Something You Can Go Straight To

Choose a goal with a battle shortcut. This lets you connect the requirements with the relevant battle without getting lost in menus.

Something for the Long Term

Keep one goal, such as Ein Lacher or a bond achievement, to work toward gradually rather than finish all at once.

Completing just one of the three makes that day's collecting a success. The remaining two are not failures; they are bookmarks for your next login. More goals might seem to mean more enjoyment, but in practice, a longer list means spending more time deciding where to start.

Where Do Titles Come From?

Regular Battles and Objectives

You naturally make progress toward title requirements as you advance through the story and battles.

Start with goals that fit your current progression path rather than going out of your way to repeat content.

Ein Lacher

You fight bosses 1-on-1 while tackling conditions such as limits on hits taken and recovery item use.

According to the official guide, performance earns medals and Seals of Honor, while achievements grant titles or bonus stats.

Character Bonds

You can also earn titles by building relationships with companions and completing bond achievements.

These goals offer something different from collecting based solely on battle counts, making them a good fit for a longer-term approach.

Events and Special Entries

Some titles are available only for a limited time or have restricted conditions for earning them.

Rather than giving up on collecting because you missed a few entries, it is easier to set those apart from the titles you can currently earn.

Achievements and titles are not interchangeable. The official Ein Lacher guide makes this distinction too: completed achievements grant titles or bonus stats. Before adding a new goal to your favorites, check the actual rewards as well as the requirements.

Sharing Within an ID Varies by Title

Some title effects are shared with other characters under the same ID, but event or exclusive titles may be exceptions. In 2025, the scope of effect sharing for certain Ein Lacher titles received a separate adjustment. If you are also planning progression for alternate characters, the safest approach is to check each title's description alongside the latest patch notes.

Rather than scanning the entire list, start with entries whose current requirements you can check.

Add One Nearly Finished Goal to Your Favorites

Start with an entry whose remaining steps are clear. It makes getting started feel more manageable.

Choose One More Goal with a Battle Shortcut

Not every title has a shortcut, so start with entries that show the button.

Run One Battle and Check Your Progress

Do not decide in advance how many times to repeat it. Complete one battle, then check whether the numbers have changed.

Close Today's Record Even If You Are Not Finished

The goal is to leave yourself a reason to continue next time. If you have gone beyond 15 minutes, consider whether collecting is starting to feel like a chore.

This record is not an efficiency chart. It is less about increasing your count faster than other players and more about understanding the kind of play you enjoy. Do you prefer goals that involve handling bosses cleanly, or the longer process of building relationships with companions? Looking through the list can make your preferences clearer than you might expect.

When I first started, seeing so many systems at once gave me pause. But as I explored them one by one, that complexity became a source of new goals. Titles are among the less demanding options. Even on a day without any major stat upgrades, they leave me thinking, “Today, I kept a small record of this battle.”

What to Avoid If You Want to Keep Collecting

Do not try to complete the entire list from the start. With limited-time titles and special requirements in the mix, it is easy to burn out quickly.

Do not push yourself to repeat the same battle just for stats. Prioritizing titles that fit your current progression path is a more sustainable approach.

Do not assume title effects apply equally to every character. Check each description for ID sharing, level requirements, and exclusive conditions.

Do not stop at the notification that you have earned a title. Review your cumulative permanent effects and organize your favorites once a week to see how your collection is changing.

I recommend collecting titles for the enjoyment of it. Just do not let title grinding become an obligation. Enjoying the game comes first.

Titles in Vindictus are closer to a record of play than a dazzling reward chest. Even as you change equipment and seasons pass, a single line of text preserves the memory of a battle. What matters is not so much earning one today as wanting to open the list again next week. If you feel that pull, this way of collecting already suits you.
