Taking Part in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge

Any long-running games I'd still recommend today?

yeah, a few. (Crazy Arcade used to be on the list... but sadly, it's no longer with us...)

Three come to mind: Tales Runner, which recently collaborated with Shugo Chara!, MapleStory, and Mabinogi.

All three have been around for years, but their regular updates and distinct personalities mean there's still plenty to enjoy, whether you're starting fresh or coming back—at least, I think so.

So in this post, I'll briefly share how I got interested in Maple Home and the fun of having an in-game home to call your own.

1. Long-Running Games Still Worth Playing

1.1. Tales Runner

Tales Runner recently collaborated with Shugo Chara!, too.



But did you know it's also had collaborations with Crayon Shin-chan, WEBTOON's 춘배 & Maru,

and even Sgt. Frog?

Alongside character progression, Tales Runner

has a unique hook: casual (human) racing.

That sounds a little violent when I put it that way;;

But there's more to it than all those collaborations.



└ These are outfits I put together myself in-game.

You can mix and match all sorts of items like this,

and new cosmetics to keep fashion fans happy

are added regularly.



1.2. MapleStory



MapleStory, probably the best-known name among long-running games,

also offers plenty of collaborations, character progression, boss challenges,

tons of fashion items, and collectibles. It's a real all-rounder.

1.3. Mabinogi (PC)



Mabinogi (PC) is another well-known, long-running game.

I got stuck early on back in the day—something to do with sheep's wool, I think?

That's when I dropped it... ㅎ.. Still, since last year's NEW RISE,

the game has been getting all sorts of updates.

For me, though... the text was so small it hurt my eyes,

so I stopped playing... ㅠ..

2. Why These Three Games Have Stayed So Popular



These three games haven't stayed popular

simply because they've been around for a long time.

2.1. Each Game Has Its Own Strengths



Tales Runner offers casual footraces and customization.

MapleStory has character progression, boss battles, and the bond you build with your character.

And Mabinogi gives you plenty of freedom in its life-sim gameplay.

Each has clear strengths.

2.2. Anything in Common...?



They offer nostalgia for longtime players

and a different experience in each game for newcomers.

That's something they all have in common, too.

3. Highlights for New and Returning Players

1	Tales Runner
For anyone looking for casual racing in short sessions, and anyone who enjoys dressing up 3D characters.
2	MapleStory
For anyone who loves the satisfaction of steadily growing stronger in an RPG.
3	Mabinogi
For anyone who wants to play at their own pace, freely choosing between combat and life-sim activities, and anyone who thinks, "I freaking love dyeing my character's outfits."



These days, the games tend to offer plenty of perks

for new and returning players.

So don't let their age put you off—

I'd recommend giving each one a try.
