Playing games alone can be fun, but most of my lasting memories come from time shared with others. I have played many games with friends, but the one we still enjoy most together is 《Mabinogi Mobile》. There are so many ways to work toward shared goals and enjoy each other's company after a battle that it feels like more than just a game—it feels like a place to spend time with friends.

The Fun of Taking on Raids Together

What my friends and I play most often is, of course, raids. There is real enjoyment in dividing up our roles, responding to a boss's attack patterns, and learning to work in sync.

We made plenty of mistakes at first, but with each attempt, we gradually learned to work together. Seeing that coordination come together brought a real sense of accomplishment. When we finally cleared a difficult raid, we naturally praised one another, and the whole experience became a fond memory.

Raids are not all we enjoy. After a battle, we also gather in My Home to chat or pass the time trying out different decorations.

Mabinogi Mobile gives us ways to relax together outside of combat, so even long sessions with friends never feel dull. As these little moments add up, I find myself growing more attached to the game.

My Top Recommendation: Playing Music

The feature I would recommend most is the music performance system.

When you hear another player performing a song, you can transcribe it into sheet music to keep in your own collection. Collecting a variety of music is part of the fun. You can also gather in the same place to play with friends, and when everyone plays a different instrument, the richer sound makes listening just as enjoyable.

What I especially like is that when you perform while in a party, you can choose to make your performance visible only to party members. It is a lovely way to enjoy a quiet ensemble session with just friends or practice without pressure, so I use this option often.

I play instruments including the piano, violin, harp, and guitar​, all bought with points in the cash shop, and I have been happy with each of them. Every instrument has its own tone, and being able to create richer, more varied music with friends is a big part of the appeal.

A Game That Is More Fun Together

Mabinogi Mobile is plenty of fun on my own, but I think its charm comes through even more when I play with friends.

From the tension of coordinating in raids to the relaxed moments together in My Home and the experience of making music on different instruments, these varied activities have given me lasting memories of time spent with friends.
