[PEAK Challenge] Getting totally fixated on badges and losing my mind over raid family photos too! My Mabinogi Mobile growth story, with super clear spec-up goals

Taking part in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge

You know those moments in a game when your heart starts racing~

For me, it’s when I look at my character and realize I’m stronger today than I was yesterday.

The more obvious that sense of growth felt, the more attached I got to the game.

At first, my goal was just to properly try a raid at least once,

then later I started thinking I wanted to make it into a raid family photo,

and before I knew it, I was staring at the badges on the 랭커s and thinking, “I want to make it up there at least once too.”

The dazzling ranking-screen ‘badges’ that completely made my eyes glaze over

Whenever I walked around town, I kept seeing players with special badges next to their names.

At first I just looked at them and thought, “Whoa... that has to be something only people who’ve played forever can get, right?” But the more I kept seeing them, the more I secretly started wanting one too.

Those players probably grew little by little at first too, right?

Once I started thinking that, a goal naturally took shape.

It stopped being just about raising my combat power number. The moment I started thinking, “Someday I want to wear that badge too,” 스펙업 itself became fun.

My tearful grind toward getting into raids and Abyss

After that day, my goal got really clear. I wanted to confidently carry my own weight in high-difficulty raids and deep Abyss dungeons with my own power.

But if you want to run raids or Abyss smoothly and reliably, combat power matters a lot.

At the time, my combat power wasn’t even close, so I seriously locked in and put together a proper 스펙업 plan.

First, I figured there’d be a limit to resource farming if I only raised one character, so I started building up my alts too. I carefully funneled all the materials I collected on those alts into my main and used that to build a solid foundation.

I gathered materials, and put my gear together piece by piece too,

and while slowly enhancing everything, I steadily raised my spec.

I wasn’t playing some crazy amount every day, but since I kept at it consistently, before I knew it I’d gotten way stronger than before.

The big moment I finally pulled off—the day I made it into the family photo

Thanks to raising my character that carefully, I finally hit the combat power I needed to proudly join the raid party I’d been aiming for.

And of course, the moment I remember most was the raid clear screen.

When that long-awaited raid ended, my character was right there, taking up a proud spot in the ‘family photo’ that popped up on screen.

All those memories of grinding it out—raising alts and working on life skills—flashed through my mind at once, and I got chills all over.

Back then, just surviving was already a struggle, but after keeping up the 스펙업, there came a point where my character started showing up in the clear screen everyone calls the family photo too.

It might not sound like a huge deal, but the second I saw that one screen, all the time I’d spent gearing up, doing life-skill grinding, and raising alts came rushing back at once, and I felt weirdly proud.

A game that keeps you growing because there’s always another goal

I think the most important thing in an MMORPG is having that next goal.

In Mabinogi Mobile, whether it’s raids, Abyss, gear growth, or life content, once you achieve one thing, another goal naturally opens up.

That’s why a huge part of the fun for me was always being able to think, “Alright, should I try pushing it this far this time?”

Even going forward, whenever a new raid comes out, I feel like I’ll probably start gearing up all over again and dive right into the challenge.
