[Participating in the NEXON PEAK Post Challenge]

One of the biggest reasons people play RPGs is

that they can feel their characters growing stronger. It is not just about leveling up: increasing combat power and clearing once-difficult content, one challenge at a time, brings a real sense of achievement.

For me, no game has made character progression more enjoyable or rewarding than Mabinogi Mobile.

Q. What made character progression so enjoyable in Mabinogi Mobile?

A-1. The next goal is clear ✅

Mabinogi Mobile has an in-game Growth Guide that clearly lays out each stage of progression. With activities ranging from equipment enhancement and reforging to skill development, completing one naturally leads to the next goal.

I set myself goals like “Go for another +1 enhancement this week,” “Get just one accessory rune,” or “Level up my life skills.” Whenever I achieved one, another would take its place, so working toward something was fun in itself.

A-2. Growing stronger together 🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏻

To me, character progression in Mabinogi Mobile is not just an individual journey, but a process of growing together. When my progress slowed or I wanted to try an unfamiliar class on an alt, I asked friends and other people around me for advice. Sometimes, they came to me with questions, too.

I remember a boss my friends and I could not beat on our first attempt. After my character grew stronger, we tried again and succeeded. That shared sense of achievement offered a different kind of enjoyment from playing alone.

A-3. Every goal reached feels rewarding 🌟

For me, the biggest appeal of character progression is seeing time and effort turn into results. It is hard to describe how rewarding it feels to comfortably clear content I once struggled even to enter. As those accomplishments added up, I kept setting myself a new goal—“I want to get even stronger”—and naturally working toward it.

🥉 3rd Place - Reaching Runeword Level 5

In 모비노기, collecting runes activates runewords made from combinations of those runes. The number and types of buffs depend on how many runewords you collect, so a larger collection means more combat power. That is why I set out to collect every armor, weapon, and emblem rune.

Accessory runes come in many varieties, so I focused my pulls on the accessories I needed to complete my runewords. By filling those gaps, I reached runeword level 5! Having started late, I thought I might not be able to collect them all. But I kept working toward that goal, and finally reaching it made me very proud.

🥈2nd Place - Raising my crafting levels

모비노기 also has life skill content.

One of those skills, equipment crafting, needs to be leveled up to make transcendence engravings that boost combat power. These require a lot of materials, so reaching a certain crafting level helps improve the success rate. I had not leveled mine at all, though. When I needed to make transcendence engravings, my crafting levels were not high enough, so I made it my goal to raise them all!

First, I bought every equipment crafting scroll from the mission boards in every town. Then I stocked up on enough materials to avoid running short, kept material processing going nonstop for 24 hours, and crafted all the equipment the missions required.

At first, the gains seemed tiny, but they added up over one month, two months, and then three. From a starting level of 10, my crafting skills climbed to levels 22,23—a noticeable jump. I reached my target of a 100 percent success rate for second-stage transcendence, then completed both first- and second-stage transcendence engravings on every piece of equipment. That gave me an enormous sense of achievement.

Now I am working toward maxing out all my crafting levels!

🥇 1st Place - Completing a legendary avatar set

I took on the challenge of completing a legendary avatar set—something every player hopes for! Getting a legendary avatar requires combining two epic outfits. Epic outfits are already hard to come by, the combination only has a chance of succeeding, and it requires legendary scissors, so this is where spending money comes in. Still, once the season ends, that legendary avatar set is no longer available to complete. Collecting all 4 pieces also grants set bonuses that boost combat power, charm, and more.

As a light spender with barely any materials, I had not even considered trying for those outfits. But when a sewing package became available, I decided to give it a go. It took many attempts, and I even sacrificed all the older epic outfits I treasured in the process. Eventually, though, I completed the set. The achievement and joy I felt when I pulled the full set and received the robe... words cannot quite capture it.

After achieving all three goals, my most rewarding moment came when I reached 60,000 combat power—my ultimate goal for Season 1!

To wrap up, I think the biggest appeal of RPGs is the journey of becoming stronger tomorrow than you are today. For me, Mabinogi Mobile captures that enjoyment better than any other game.

I can see my progress, I always have a clear next goal, and I can feel my character growing stronger as my effort pays off!

My current goals are to collect all the accessory runes suited to my class and raise my magic resistance above 4400 so I can enter Hell 1. As my character grows, new goals keep emerging. For me, that ongoing journey toward the next goal is Mabinogi Mobile’s greatest appeal!
