[Participating in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge]

One of the biggest reasons people play RPGs is that they can truly feel their character growing stronger. It is not just about gaining levels. It is about raising combat power, clearing content that once felt difficult, and experiencing that strong sense of achievement step by step.

The game where I felt the most fun and satisfaction from improving my character’s specs was Mabinogi Mobile.

Q. Why did spec progression feel so rewarding in Mabinogi Mobile?

A-1. The next goal is always clear ✅

Mabinogi Mobile has an in-game Growth Guide that lays out each step clearly. There is also a wide range of content—gear enhancement, crafting, skill growth, and more—so once I finish one thing, the next goal naturally presents itself.

I would set goals for myself like, “This week, let’s push enhancement by one more level,” “Let’s get at least one accessory rune,” or “Let’s raise my life content level.” Even after achieving one goal, another would appear, so simply having something new to work toward became part of the fun itself.

A-2. A story of growing together 🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏻

To me, spec progression in Mabinogi Mobile is not just a solo journey. It is a shared process of growing together.

When my character’s growth felt slow, or when I wanted to try an unfamiliar class as a sub-character, I asked the people around me and my friends for advice. At other times, I was the one answering questions. I still remember how different it felt when we returned to challenge a boss we could not clear at first, and then succeeded together after I had grown stronger. That sense of achievement brought a kind of enjoyment that felt very different from playing alone.

A-3. The sense of achievement that comes with every goal 🌟

I think the biggest appeal of spec progression is that the time and effort you put in lead to clear results. The sense of achievement you feel when content that once seemed hard even to enter becomes something you can handle comfortably is hard to describe. As those moments kept building up, a new goal naturally followed—“I want to get even stronger”—and I found myself moving toward it again.

🥉 3rd Place - Reaching Runeword Level 5

In Mabinogi, the more runes you collect, the more Runewords made by combining those runes become activated. Because the number and type of buffs applied change depending on how many Runewords you have collected, gathering more of them increases your combat power. That is why I made it my goal to collect every armor, weapon, and emblem rune. For accessory runes, which come in many types, I focused only on the ones needed to complete Runewords, and that is how I reached Runeword Level 5!! I started late, so I thought I might not be able to gather them all, but because I kept that goal in sight, finally achieving it made me incredibly proud.

🥈2nd Place - Raising my crafting level

Mabinogi has life content, and among those systems, equipment crafting level is especially important because you need it to make Transcendence Engravings that increase combat power. Since they require a lot of materials, you also need a certain amount of crafting level to improve the success rate—but I had not raised mine at all. So when the time came that I needed to do Transcendence and could not make it, I set myself the goal of raising all my crafting levels!

First, I bought all the equipment crafting scrolls from the mission boards in every village. Then I gathered more than enough materials and kept processing running nonstop for 24 hours so I could craft all the equipment needed for those missions.

At first, it felt like the progress was tiny. But after one month, then two, then three, the increase became clearly noticeable. Once I finally reached my target of a 100% success rate for second-stage Transcendence, I felt an enormous sense of achievement.

Right now, I am still pushing ahead with the goal of reaching max crafting level!

🥇 1st Place - Completing a Legendary Avatar set

I took on the challenge of completing a Legendary Avatar set—something every user dreams of! To get a Legendary Avatar, you have to combine two Epic outfits, but Epic outfits are already hard to get, the synthesis itself is chance-based, and it also requires Legendary Scissors, so it really falls into the realm of spending. Even so, once that season passes, you cannot complete that Legendary Avatar set again, and if you collect all 4 parts, the set effect increases combat power, charm, and more.

As someone who only spent a little, I had almost no materials, so it was not something I could even seriously consider at first,, but then a tailoring package came out, and I decided to go for it while I had the momentum. It was incredibly difficult, but I eventually completed it. The sense of achievement and joy I felt when I finally pulled the set and received the robe... it is impossible to fully put into words. And after accomplishing all three of these goals, the greatest sense of achievement came when I reached 60,000 combat power, which had been my ultimate goal in Season 1!

To wrap things up, I think the biggest appeal of RPGs is the process of becoming stronger tomorrow than you are today, and for me, Mabinogi Mobile is the game that lets me feel that enjoyment most clearly. The growth process is visible, the next goal is always clear, and I can genuinely feel my character getting stronger in proportion to the effort I put in!

My current goal is to complete all the accessory runes that match my class and raise my magic resistance above 4400 so I can go to Hell 1. In the end, I think the greatest appeal of Mabinogi Mobile may be the process itself—growing my character, discovering new goals, and continuing to move toward them!
