[PEAK Challenge] I totally lose my mind over badges, and raid family photos make my eyes light up too! This is my Mabinogi Mobile growth story, with my gearing goals clear from the start

Taking part in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge

You know those moments in a game when your heart just starts racing~

For me, it’s probably when I look at my character and realize they’re stronger today than they were yesterday.

The clearer that sense of growth feels, the more attached I get to the game.

At first, my goal was just to make it into a raid properly at least once,

then later I started thinking I wanted to be in the raid family photo,

and before I knew it, I was looking at the rankers’ “딱지” badges and thinking, “I want to make it up there at least once too.”

The dazzling “딱지” badges in the ranking window that completely stole my heart

Whenever I wandered around town, I’d always spot players with special “딱지” badges next to their names.

At first I was just like, “Whoa... that’s probably only something people who’ve played forever can get, right?” and watched from afar, but the more I kept seeing them, the more I started wanting one too.

Those players probably grew little by little at the start too, right?

That thought naturally turned into a goal for me.

It stopped being just about raising my combat power number—once I started wanting to wear that “딱지” myself someday, the whole process of gearing up became genuinely fun.

The tear-filled growth journey toward raids and the Abyss

After that day, my goal became crystal clear. I wanted to take on high-difficulty raids and deep Abyss dungeons with enough strength to really carry my part on my own.

But if you want to run raids or the Abyss steadily and safely, combat power matters a lot.

At the time, my combat power wasn’t even close, so I really had to toughen up and make a serious spec-up plan.

First, I figured there was a limit to how much currency I could earn if I only raised one character, so I started working hard on my alts too. I carefully funneled all the materials I gathered from those alts into my main and built up my foundation that way.

I gathered materials, put my gear together one piece at a time,

and kept enhancing little by little, slowly building up my specs.

I wasn’t playing a crazy amount every single day, but because I stayed consistent, before I knew it I was way stronger than I used to be.

The proud moment I finally made it—the day I got into the family photo

Thanks to all the care I put into raising my character, I finally reached the combat power I needed to proudly join the raid party I’d been aiming for.

And of course, the moment I remember most was the raid clear screen.

After that long-awaited raid ended, there was my character right there on screen, proudly taking up a spot in the “family photo.”

All the memories of raising alts and grinding life content came flashing back in an instant, and I got chills all over.

There was a time when just surviving felt hard enough, but after continuing to spec up, one day my character was suddenly showing up on that clear screen everyone calls the family photo too.

It might not sound like a huge deal, but seeing that one screen brought back all the time I’d spent gearing up, working on life content, and raising alts, and it honestly made me feel so proud.

A game where having a goal keeps you growing

I think the most important thing in an MMORPG is having a next goal.

In 마비노기모바일, whether it’s raids, the Abyss, gear growth, or life content, once you achieve one thing, another goal naturally opens up.

So a big part of the fun for me was being able to think, “Should I try pushing a little farther this time?”

Even from here on out, whenever a new raid comes out, I feel like I’ll be right back to gearing up and throwing myself into the challenge again.
