The first game that comes to mind when I think of the game of my life is FC Online.
In this post, I want to talk about why FC Online has stayed with me for so long, and why I would recommend it to anyone who loves football.
I think everyone has at least one game that comes to mind first, no matter how much time passes. For me, that game is FC Online. Not simply because it lets you play football matches, but because the experience of collecting the players I love, building a team in my own way, and playing each match with that team has remained with me for a very long time.

The biggest appeal of FC Online was the fact that I could build a team of my own. In the game, I could put together a squad made up of players I had loved watching in real football, clubs that had left a strong impression on me, and legendary players I had always wanted to try at least once. What I especially liked was that it was not just about filling the team with high-stat players, but about creating a team with the players I personally cared about.

At first, I assumed that using strong and expensive players would automatically make for a good team. But the more I played, the more I realized that the fun of building a team in FC Online was not just about numbers. I found myself thinking carefully about which players suited which formations, whether I wanted quick wingers, whether I should use a striker with strong physical presence, and whether I needed a midfielder who could control the flow of passing.
The most enjoyable moment in building a squad was bringing all the players I liked together in one place. In real football, there are players you would rarely ever see on the same team, but in the game, they could play side by side. By putting a striker I had loved for years next to a midfielder I currently enjoy, and adding dependable defenders at the back, I ended up with a team that reflected my tastes exactly.
Because of that process, FC Online felt less like a simple sports game and more like a game about developing my own team. Even signing a single player did not feel like I was merely filling an empty slot. I would find myself thinking about how that player might change the feel of the team. And when I put a new player into the lineup and played that first match, it even felt a little like giving a real new signing their debut.
The sense of immersion when actually playing matches was another reason FC Online became a lifelong favorite for me. Football is a sport where a single goal carries enormous weight, and the game captured that feeling well. One misplaced pass could lead to a counterattack, while one good through ball that turned into a goal felt genuinely exhilarating.
The moments that stand out most clearly are the times I scored late in a tightly contested match. Chances would be hard to come by all game, and then, near the end of the second half, space would finally open up, the pass would find a player making a run, and I would finish calmly. That feeling stayed with me for a long time. More than the fact that I had won, what meant the most was that the decisive moment came from a player on the team I had built myself.

On the other hand, the disappointing losses stayed with me as well. Hitting the post, conceding because of one final defensive mistake, or failing to make the save in a penalty shootout even after guessing the right direction—those moments were frustrating at the time, but later they became part of what made me want to try again. FC Online was not only enjoyable when I won. Even when I lost, it made me want to play the next match better.
Player enhancement and the transfer market were also major reasons I kept playing FC Online for so long. Checking prices to sign the player I wanted, trying enhancements, and gradually increasing my team value was its own kind of fun. On the pitch, skill and tactics mattered, while off the pitch, there was a different kind of enjoyment in thinking about how to keep developing the team.

Of course, enhancement was not something that always ended in success. When it worked, it felt as though the team had become a step stronger, and when it failed, it was disappointing. Even so, that tension is exactly what made it memorable. The brief moment before pressing the button, and the wait for the result to appear, felt like one of those special experiences unique to FC Online.
One reason FC Online never became boring to me was that there were so many different ways to enjoy it. I could play one or two quick matches, or, when I had more time, I could rebuild my squad or try changing my tactics. Some days were for playing matches, while others were for watching the transfer market and thinking over player combinations. I liked that I did not have to engage with it in the same way every time.

I think anyone who loves football can fall into FC Online quite easily. The player names, positions, clubs, and tactics we know from real football all carry over into the game. Seeing a player I like receive the ball and score gave me a kind of satisfaction that was different from watching an actual match.
At the same time, FC Online is also easy to recommend to people who do not know football particularly well. At first, you may not know much about player names or tactics, but by playing one match at a time, you naturally begin to learn positions and play styles. The pleasure of scoring, defending successfully, and collecting good players is intuitive, so it never felt difficult to get started.
The reason I think of FC Online as the game of my life is not simply that I spent a long time playing it. It is because my own football preferences were reflected in the game so clearly. The players I like, the formations I prefer, whether I enjoy attacking football or favor a more stable defense—all of that showed itself through my team.
Even now, the reason FC Online comes to mind first is that sense of attachment. A squad in a game may look like nothing more than a collection of numbers and cards, but to the person who built it, every player is there for a reason. Because these were the players I thought carefully about, signed, enhanced, and used in matches, they stayed with me more vividly.
The reason I want to recommend FC Online to others is just as clear. If you love football, you can build the team you have always dreamed of and feel a match-by-match tension that resembles real football. You can play only a game or two if you want, or, if you want to go deeper, you can spend a long time thinking about your squad and tactics.
Above all, FC Online is a game that gives a strong sense of being alongside the players you love. If the player who scores in a match is someone I signed myself, that moment stays with me even longer. It does not feel like a game where only wins and losses remain. It feels like a game where the story of the team I built keeps accumulating over time.
That is why, for me, FC Online is the kind of lifelong game I believe everyone should try at least once. If you love football, you can experience the joy of building a team that feels truly your own, and even if you do not know football well, it is easy to feel the thrill of scoring a goal.
To sum up the main points from today:
The biggest appeal of FC Online was being able to build my own team with the players I like.
The process of putting together a squad while thinking about player roles and formations was genuinely enjoyable.
The moments when I scored with a team I had built myself in a tightly contested match stayed with me for a long time.
There was also a real sense of fun in gradually developing the team through enhancement and the transfer market.
If you love football, I truly hope you get the chance to build your own dream team and play with it yourself.
Do you also have a game of your life that still comes to mind first no matter how much time passes? If there is a game you would especially recommend, and a reason why, I would love to hear about it in the comments.
