Hello!

1. MapleStory Equipment Items

MapleStory has a ton of different equipment items!

If you break it down broadly, you’ve got tabs like accessories, armor, and weapons.

What I want to talk about in this post is

why this equipment system is so fun!!

It’s both the best part and the worst part. There are so many types, and so much to do. You really have to study up a lot!

I’ve even posted a few guides about this stuff myself.

Just look at how many slots there are in MapleStory’s equipment window.

And you have to enhance every single one, too. There are even multiple upgrade systems people call the five-layer hell gate.

This is the equipment enhancement window, and yeah... it already looks like a lot just from one glance, right?

I’m the kind of person who likes thinking things through, analyzing them, and organizing everything on my own, so I honestly like this kind of enhancement system!!

There’s so much to sort out ㅎㅎ

Seriously, look at how many gear posts I’ve made already..ㅋㅋㅋ It really is a game where the equipment system is hard.

There’s a lot, right?

And some of this may have changed with updates, so a few details could be different now, but the basic framework is the same, so I hope this still works as a useful reference!!

The downside is definitely the randomness and the spending pressure.......

So why is this such a hot streaming game!!!

That’s exactly it. The randomness and the spending pressure!

In my case, since I work a regular office job, there’s a limit to how much money I can spend compared to streamers.

But for streamers,

they roll cubes, roll potentials, and just click-click, as people say.

That irresponsible pleasure is honestly so good.

It feels like your dopamine is popping off right along with them.

2. MapleStory Bosses

Look at this. There are seriously so, so many boss types.

There’s even a boss called Kaira that isn’t shown here, and new bosses will keep getting added too.

What drops from these bosses? How are you supposed to break down and deal with each boss’s patterns?

Analyzing and organizing that kind of stuff is fun too!!

It’s also fun to watch streams and see first clears or race-to-clear runs!

What’s the most efficient way to beat the boss? Where do you dodge, and how?

There’s a lot of fun in figuring that out live, too.

When it comes to MapleStory, I personally think it’s basically a solo game.

You level your character on your own. It’s not really a game where you party up to level.

Back in the day, or in MapleStory M, there is party hunting,

but for PC MapleStory, I think of it as a single-player game,.

But then there’s guild content that kind of holds the buff system hostage?

And there’s also boss content where you work together to clear it, so there are definitely parts of the game you do with other people.

Union, Links, equipment, and the buff system all involve communicating with lots of people, analyzing things, finding routes, and growing stronger,

and because of that, it really needs a community. I think it’s a game that uses that well.

And in that process, if you want to enjoy the irresponsible pleasure of random cash-item spending, there’s the streamer spending dopamine!!

There’s streamer content that gives you that vicarious satisfaction through the equipment system,

and all kinds of guide posts and videos that explain things like character progression, enhancement methods, and boss patterns.

That’s why I think it’s such a hot game for streamers.
