[PEAK Challenge] From books to websites, if you want to get stronger, you have to study.

I’m currently participating in the [Nexon PEAK Post Challenge].

Games are much more user-friendly these days, so when you’re putting your gear together, the explanations tend to be quite detailed. Back then, though, games were generally pretty unforgiving. Because of that, a lot of us played with guides open, relied on walkthroughs shared by other players, or even looked things up in printed reference books. I still have a book on how to use redstone in Minecraft. But things have changed now.

Now we live in a time when guides come pouring out the moment you search. There are sites that gather them all in one place, and just as many people sharing their own advice independently. Naver blogs are the default starting point, and YouTube is practically an ocean of information. What we need now is the ability to tell which guides and setup information are actually worth using. Before, the challenge was finding a guide at all. Now, it’s figuring out which one to follow out of countless options.

The first names that come to mind are Mabinogi About and Soma's Mabinogi. It was a long time ago already, so my memory is a little hazy. These days, while playing Mabinogi Mobile, I mostly prefer searching on Naver and YouTube. Season 2 just opened this time, and Runda Abyss opened as well, so I’ve been searching quite diligently. Of course, it’s also fun to read the in-game explanations and talk through strategies with other players. There’s enjoyment in the growth process itself, and there’s also a certain pleasure in putting together your setup while imagining what comes after you’ve grown stronger.

Having a lot of information probably means that many people are playing the game. And if there are a lot of players researching it, that likely means the process of figuring the game out is enjoyable in its own right. That’s why I like the idea of the games I play being the kind that generate plenty of useful information. RPGs like this are especially more fun when there are more people playing together, after all. So with that, I’ll end here by wishing everyone reading this happiness today as well.
