[PEAK Challenge] PC online games are shifting in a more player-driven direction! My thoughts on Elsword Summer Rendezvous

[Participating in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge]

Hello~

Today, I’m joining the fun PEAK Post Challenge again ^_^

Back when I was a kid, game companies would sometimes hold simple little collab events as a kind of playful promotion, but it was pretty rare for them to directly share update news with players and even run a Q&A. Of course, maybe I just couldn’t take part because I wasn’t an adult yet ^_^;;

These days, though, it really feels like PC online games are gradually building a culture of enjoying things together with users and actively communicating with them.

And in Elsword, which is the game I play the most, they recently held a user event called ‘Elios Summer Rendezvous’.

Since they were only picking 90 people… I applied with my heart absolutely pounding.

Whether I was just lucky, or Nexon and KOG officially decided I’m an Elsword addict, they gave me the chance to attend, so I went^^~

That said, I also saw a lot of people saying this draw picked too many low-spec players… so to briefly share my own specs,

Resonance level in the 500s, Dogma owned, main/sub characters 11사 11-21엑사 하엔트… I don’t run it that often, but I’m just an average-spec player who still does at least one phase every week^^…

In the line I was in, I actually had the highest resonance level. (The people next to me were in the 300–400 range)

[Note] Please keep in mind that everything below is a review of the event on the 20th (Sat), not the 21st–22nd~!

There were all kinds of welcome gifts, and it really made me feel like the atmosphere of communicating with users and taking care of them has gotten much stronger over time. Honestly, it felt like we were being treated really well.

They also gave us character merch!

I got Chung, who’s the character I like the most these days and the one I’ve been raising the most.

I got to see the director right in front of me and listen to everything in detail.

From what I saw, they mainly answered Q&A questions that had been collected in advance ^^

As for the Q&A and my thoughts on the summer update… I’ll let the screenshots below speak for themselves ^^

Right before it started!!

Right after it ended…

After that, there was also some extra time for on-site attendees to chat and interact more. It was… pretty informative, I think ^^

And here are photos of the merch and gifts I received!! There was more, but I gathered the ones that were especially cute and that I personally loved most^^

Overall review

Honestly, if I said there was nothing disappointing at all, that would be a lie ^^…

Still, I did come away feeling that the Elsword team is trying, in its own way, to communicate with users, and I hope they keep working to improve and grow from here.

These days, a lot of places are doing communication livestreams, so I can only hope Elsword keeps pace with changes like this too^^

With that, I’ll wrap up this post here~
