If I had to name a game that’s especially fun to play with friends,

I would, without a doubt, talk about Mabinogi’s 'Trade' content.

These days, with so many convenience features, games are easier and faster to enjoy than ever. But the Trade system I experienced in Mabinogi showed me a different kind of fun altogether, one that had little to do with efficiency.

Some time ago, I joined a trade run with several other players under the name 'Seol-i Crew',
and because we wanted to be considerate of newer players taking the route for the first time, we decided not to rush ahead and instead move together at the same pace.

If efficiency had been all we cared about, that choice might have felt frustrating, but it was exactly in that slower process that unforgettable memories were made. Whenever we found treasure chests tucked away along the roadside, we would all stop, earn a few Ducats, and enjoy that small bit of fun together, and when monsters appeared, we would step up first to protect the newer players.

When we reached darker areas, we would light a campfire, pause for a while, and make sure no one had fallen behind, and as we waited for everyone to gather, we would share food as well. From a purely efficient point of view, none of this was necessary, but that is exactly why those moments became memories that stayed with me for so long.

What makes Mabinogi’s Trade so enjoyable is not simply the rewards. It is the process itself—walking the road together, looking out for one another, turning funny little moments into memories, and moving toward the same destination. Running crews have become popular in real life lately, and when I think back on it now, that day’s trade run really did feel like a small running crew in an online world.

The scene from that day—when I set fast travel and efficiency aside for a little while and walked slowly with friends—remains both the reason I love Mabinogi and the biggest reason I think of it as a great game to enjoy with friends.
