[PEAK Challenge] Mabinogi: Brilech Gates 1–3, Gongropnab duo challenge

[This post is part of the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge.]

While I was getting ready to quit Mabinogi,

a set of huge changes suddenly

pulled me back in out of curiosity.

1. New Dark Mage skill: Latent Ignition

2. Lightning Chain no longer gets canceled when switching weapons during use

3. Lightning Chain cooldown removed (though if you fully cancel the skill, it still triggers cooldown)

4. Snow Storm now deals 딜 properly regardless of range + the hit count finally applies correctly

(Around this time last year, the big update was the Dorcha improvement for wand and staff Mana Pierce.)

With Sega no longer being mandatory in Brileh,

the pressure around 구인 eased up,

and the slight reduction to the 2관 50% pattern timer

also took a noticeable amount of stress off.

(That said, once Sega's sacrifice was removed,

damage reduction got attached to Seba's 치손 and Gume barrier,

so Seba care became much more important.

The burden on Sebas is definitely higher now...)

Most of the people around me are Soul,

and I already had a fixed 3-man set up, but

I was curious.

How far could my 딜 actually go?

For now, my current specs are

mid-1900s Magic Attack

Hydra Magic Protection Echo 17

Thunder Combo Card 86%

Attack Speed Robe

Parma 21, Lama 20, Cast Speed 11, Tuairim Exploit 14, Dos Damage 16

The Seba I more or less kidnapped

had Viva 82%

and dual Souls (Healing Wand, Lyra).

After confirming that

even with Gloomy Vivace (70%+),

1-Halo was possible,

I started wanting to try a 2-man run.

They said they might end up throwing the key, but

they were curious too,

so we decided to just go in together and see.

People usually talk about it

based on the remaining time right after the lunge goes out and the clear happens,

and in our case it was 4 minutes 42 seconds.

(Since it's a 20-minute dungeon,

15 minutes 18 seconds total)

As long as you're solid on the gimmicks,

1관 is a section you can get through without much issue.

A long time ago, if blue internal injury hit 10 stacks,

it was basically an instant death, but

now it just hurts a lot....

Our little foal,

bbrong bbrong bbrong.

I do recommend turning on effect simplification (show only my effects),

but I’ve never really used it, even before,

so I just played it as-is.

With 1~3 players, you absolutely have to make no-isolation happen,

so the jump-rope movement has to be very tight.

After you finish jumping,

if you place a well like that,

it becomes much easier to tell

where you need to start from.

The biggest issue was 2관 50....

Since it was my first 2-man attempt,

I was extremely tense.

If you look closely at the video,

the screen spins right as the 50% phase starts,

so I had a real scare.........

And with only 10 minutes left,

I started wondering if we were short on time,

or if we might not even clear 2관.

I was anxious,

but we cleared it.

There was 1 minute 45 seconds left.

(18 minutes 15 seconds/20 minutes)

Uh.... we had made it this far, but

once I stopped to think about it,

would our boss 딜 outside the gimmicks actually be enough...?

Muir of Renen in 3관

has Piercing Resistance 2, so

if you're playing Dark Mage,

you get Piercing 4 from Mana Pierce,

and from the Void Robe

you get through the Shining Orb Dungeon,

another Piercing 1,

for a total of 5, but

that still means fighting Muir at effective Piercing 3.

My acquaintance and I said

we'd just push it as far as we could.

It cleared when about

this much of the floor AoE was left.

(Cleared in 20 seconds)

For a safe 1-Halo 딜 cycle,

I used

Lunge OR Ignition

once per Halo.

It was an expected result,

but still a disappointing one.

We couldn't clear it and left 13.56%.

If it had been Gloomy, I think

we probably would have left around 30~44%.

After running Bri steadily since last February,

my impression is that

a lot of the unpleasant friction for new players

has been removed, so it also feels like a good time to come back.

In the Shining Orb Dungeon,

you can obtain the Void Robe,

and during pre-season,

the game gives enough weapon and gear support

to let you progress step by step.

Brileh Dungeon is still upper-tier content,

so the difficulty is still fairly high, but

once you get used to it, it's a fun dungeon

to run with people you know.
