Hello.
I’m Mapogamtwi.
Today, we’re taking a look at some unusual quests.
When you think of RPGs, what kind of quest comes to mind first?
Most people probably think of the usual stuff, like hunting monsters or talking to a specific NPC.
But MapleStory has one famously weird quest line that’s been around forever.
Yep... the Forest of Patience!!
It almost feels like the game is trying to remind you that the biggest progression in an RPG isn’t your gear in the end, but the player getting better.
It’s a quest that demands absolutely cursed physical skill.
I can’t prove it, but I’m pretty sure this thing helped inspire Jump King.
MapleStory has three jump maps like this,
and since they’re also tied to Artifact Missions, I’ll briefly go over where to start each one and how to get in.
Artifact Missions
Forest of Patience gives 1500 Artifact EXP

The Construction Site quest gives 2000 Artifact EXP

Forest of Tenacity gives 2000 Artifact EXP

.
They give a pretty generous amount, so even now I still set aside a day once in a while to try them,
but yeah... they’re not easy for me.
1) Hersha and Pink Ansirium [Forest of Patience]

You can accept this quest from Hersha in Ellinia starting at level 25.

After talking to Hersha and taking the quest,

you can enter by talking to Shane at the bottom left.

The entry fee is level*100 mesos.

Forest of Patience starts off with pure nightmare difficulty from Stage 1.
2) Shumi's Lost Coin [Construction Site B1]

This quest starts in Kerning City and becomes available at level 45.

Talk to Shumi in Line 2, Section 2,

then head back to the Subway Ticketing Booth,

talk to Ungi to buy a B1 ticket,

and enter Construction Site B1 through the turnstile.

I’m tapping out again today..
3) John's Pink Flower Basket [Forest of Tenacity]

You can start this quest from John at level 65.
You can begin it by talking to John in Lith Harbor or Sleepywood.

Since you have to come to Sleepywood anyway, you might as well talk to the John there,

then speak to the strange statue right below him to enter the Forest of Tenacity.

I made it to Stage 2, but... any farther than this is just not happening..
I’ve... never actually cleared any of these all the way to the end..
They’re seriously way too hard.
Have any of you managed to clear even one of them?
Let me know which one felt the easiest.
