[PEAK Challenge] Mabinogi Mobile, the Christmas event that comes to mind on a hot day—cold, and yet somehow warm

[This post is part of the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge.]

Hello, it’s Jagyeong.

It’s raining, and the air is heavy with heat.

While I was cleaning, I knocked over

a doll I knitted last winter.

It was a little knitted sock Santa doll—

something I simplified as much as I could

because I wanted to make a Santa doll, but my skills weren’t quite there yet.

As I picked it up and set it back in its place,

I suddenly found myself thinking about

Mabinogi Mobile’s

very first Christmas event from last year.

It was December 23, ’25,

and in Mabinogi Mobile,

the Christmas event was already in full swing.

In this event, you could get a Santa outfit and mask

the Winter Festival Fairy Hat and Robe.

The hat was something you could earn on your own if you put in the effort,

but the robe—the Santa outfit—could only be obtained

if players across the server all worked together.

And since I was on Duncan, which had quite a large player base,

I had already claimed the Santa outfit on the 23rd.

The moment I got it, I went to show it off to a friend.

But that friend was on a different server.

And he had some sad news for me.

Unlike me, whose server had already cleared stage 3 on the 23rd

and gotten the Santa outfit ahead of the 25th,

his server hadn’t even made it through stage 2.

And then came the part that really stung—

they might not get it before the 25th, before Christmas at all.

And then the next day, on December 24,

I saw a miracle in Mabinogi Mobile.

I’d heard that even with Christmas so close, the outfit still felt far away,

so I made a character and logged in, hoping to help even a little.

But there were already so many people there.

They were players from other servers,

all coming over to help complete the Winter Festival Tree.

There were so many, in fact,

that it was hard even to talk to Amy.

And by Christmas Day, every server

was able to wear the Santa outfit.

Players’ hearts and choices came together,

and it made for the warmest Christmas I can remember.

That’s why it stayed with me so vividly.

So even now,

I still find myself trying to convince people to come play Mabinogi Mobile with me.

There’s plenty of fun content like Dagda and the Dreaming Inn,

but what really makes it special is the people you play alongside.

Honestly, even in Dagda, where you solve quizzes together with your teammates,

the fun isn’t just in clearing it solo—it’s in stumbling through it together,

thinking things over side by side.

I hope I get to tell that story someday too.

I don’t know what kind of event will come next,

but I do hope we keep getting fun events and quests.

So with that, I’m hoping

everyone reading this today finds a little happiness too.
