Taking part in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge

At first I seriously thought he was just a basic villain, but

after I finished the whole story, he was actually the villain who stuck with me the most

Mabinogi Mobile's Northern Duke!!!!!!!

A stoic man stuck in unrequited love!!!!

A heartbreakingly devoted man who only ever had eyes for one woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that person is~~~~~

Adwin, the Duke of Emain Macha (probably)!!!

What? He's just some guy though?

Yep, that's what I thought at first too...

Okay, so to introduce him first, Adwin is...

the leader of the noble faction (job passed)

looks dignified on the outside, but is actually super ambitious (setting passed)

that's the kind of person he is.

And later, in the end,

he summons a banshee to take control of Emain Macha!!!

But then... this banshee's face????

The banshee Adwin summoned wasn't just some normal banshee.

She looked exactly like the late former queen.

And he even says something like THIS to the banshee wearing the former queen's face!!!!

Wait wait... what?

No way...

I mean... no way...

Behind all that ambition to take over Emain Macha,

he had actually been in love with the former queen all along... someone he could never reach in his entire life!!!

And then comes the biggest scene!!!

When he tells them to drag me to the banshee so she can absorb my soul,

the banshee with the former queen's face asks for Adwin's soul too

But instead of being shocked or trying to run away, Adwin

just smiles and answers, "If you desire it, then take it." ㅠㅠㅠ

Even while his soul is being absorbed whole, right up until the very last second,

"My... radiant..." he says, longing for the former queen as his soul is taken ㅠㅠ

So he wasn't just some cliché villain after all, but this insanely heartbreaking story-heavy villain the game gave us instead!!!!

Villains with a tragic backstory are basically innocent, aren't they?? ㅠㅠ

And lastly... the woman Adwin loved...
