[PEAK Challenge] FC Online is a great game to play with friends — and why it’s even more fun together

Hello, this is Edgar.

Playing a game you love by yourself is fun too,

but games really are at their best when you play them with friends,

and those moments tend to stick with you for a long time.

That feels especially true with competitive games.

Winning on your own feels good, sure,

but the games where you laugh and talk your way through them with a friend are the ones you remember for years.

When I was in middle school and high school,

the big game was a soccer title called Winning Eleven.

I think it’s still around, but it’s been more than 20 years since I last played it.

The game that took its place for me was Nexon’s FC Online (formerly FIFA Online).

FC Online is fun even if you just play official matches on your own,

but it’s definitely the kind of game that gets twice as fun when you play with a friend.

One of the best things about it is that “soccer” is an easy theme to jump into.

Even with a friend who doesn’t really play games that much,

you can just shout things like “Pass it,” “Take the shot,” or “Defense, defense,”

and start having fun together right away.

With RPGs, if there’s a big gap in levels or gear,

it’s often hard to play together.

For a while, whenever we went to a PC bang, FC Online was the first game my friends and I turned on.

We’d each show off our own teams and players,

saying things like, “This player feels amazing in-game.”

“This season is great value for the price.”

We’d end up talking back and forth about the game like that,

but the best part was when we played with a small wager on the line.

It’s not just about playing matches.

I think that’s part of the charm of FC Online—it’s a game where building your own squad and showing it off is fun too.

Even if everyone has the same budget, the teams and players they put together can be completely different,

so there’s always plenty for friends to talk about when they look over each other’s squads.

Official matches come with a lot of pressure about winning and losing,

but friendlies with a friend are perfect when you just want to enjoy the game without stress.

And if your friend makes some absurd mistake, it can turn into a running joke for quite a while.

Using the goalkeeper in a bizarre way, missing a shot in front of an open net, making a completely awful pass, and so on—

FC Online is full of stories like that.

Sometimes it even turned into a clash of pride and we argued, but even that became a memory in the end.

There’s also plenty to talk about with friends I met online, not just with my real-life friends.

It’s fun to recommend cost-effective team colors, teams, and players to each other and share what we’ve learned.

If you’ve been thinking about coming back, why not start again with a friend?

When you log in for the first time in a while, the players and market prices have changed, so there’s a lot to figure out.

I think it’s even more fun if you split things up with a friend, look into different areas, and share what you find.

FC Online has a lot of content that includes probability-based items,

but I think it can be even more enjoyable if you spend in moderation without overdoing it.

Whether it’s a friend who knows soccer well and really cares about it,

or a friend who isn’t all that interested and doesn’t really follow real-life soccer,

FC Online is the kind of soccer game where you can start laughing and having fun together in no time.

If you’re looking for a game to make memories with a friend,

I’d recommend trying it at least once.

When you look back on it much later, those hours can turn into really happy memories. They did for me, anyway.
