[PEAK Challenge] Getting Back into FC Online with the Player Growth Event — A Game That’s Easy to Return To

[Participating in the Nexon PEAK Post Challenge]

Hello, this is Edgar.

Even when you want to return to a game you used to enjoy after a long break,

there are usually more reasons to hesitate than you might expect.

/

It may have been a game you genuinely loved and knew inside and out,

but after enough updates pile up, it can start to feel like a completely different game,

and that naturally leads to the question, "Will I be able to adjust to all the new systems?"

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I had not played FC Online (FIFA Online) for about 3 to 4 years,

but I recently started playing again around the World Cup.

With several events currently running and the core of the game still intact,

coming back felt much less intimidating than I expected.

In this post, I want to go over why FC Online is such an easy game to come back to,

and also share a few tips for the "Player Growth" event, which is definitely worth doing right now.

I will cover both here.

The basic rules do not change.

FC Online is a soccer game. The core rules and controls have either barely changed or not changed at all.

With RPGs or collection-based games, if you log in again after a long break, things like gear, currency, the meta, and dungeon strategies

often have to be relearned from scratch.

It is supposed to be a game you play for fun, but having to study it again first... am I the only one who finds that exhausting?

But in FC Online, the basics of winning the ball, passing, shooting, scoring, and defending do not change.

Of course, player seasons have changed a lot, and my old club is basically close to worthless now,

but events, Friendly Mode, Manager Mode, and squad checks still do not feel all that overwhelming.

Another thing I really like about Nexon's FC Online is that it gives new and returning users clear direction and major rewards through various events,

so you do not spend time just staring at the screen wondering, "What am I supposed to do first?"

Once the controls start feeling familiar again,

it does not take very long to get back to your old rhythm based on your previous experience,

and that is the main reason I see it as a game with a low barrier to returning.

There are plenty of events going on, but today I also want to share some tips for the

"Player Growth" event that I am currently doing myself.

As the name suggests, you train the player you choose and then play matches,

so the objective is very clear and easy to follow.

Here is the first tip.

Claim your FC Online play rewards first.

Depending on whether you log in to FC Online, complete 1 play session, or complete 3 play sessions,

the EXP boost effect changes.

So if you have the time, instead of jumping straight into Player Growth,

it is more efficient to claim the play rewards first and get the extra EXP benefit.

Here is the second tip.

Choose your position carefully.

Forwards have straightforward scoring missions.

Midfielders get a mix of assists, goals, ratings, and win conditions.

Defenders have tackle missions, which can be more difficult for beginners.

If you are confident in your ability to score, go with "Forward."

If your playstyle is a bit more versatile, go with "Midfielder."

I would recommend "Defender" for intermediate players or above.

Here is the third tip.

Do not be afraid to spend your stat points.3

Rather than trying to force your player into being an all-rounder,

it is more important to invest in the stats that match each position.

Forwards: Speed, Shooting, Physical

Wingers, CAM: Speed, Dribbling, Passing

Midfielders: Passing, Dribbling, Stamina

Defenders: Physical, Speed

That is the kind of build I would recommend.

Here is the fourth tip.

Do not get too greedy with enhancement.

In Player Growth, enhancement success rates exist at each stage.

Enhancing early on is less of a burden, but the farther you go, the lower the odds become,

so it is better not to force it.

Instead of chasing high enhancement too aggressively in the early stages,

it is better to build steadily while collecting mission rewards and season rewards.

I recommend setting a limit for yourself—something like, "How far do I want to push today?"—and playing around that.

The fifth tip is simple: do not ignore the manager missions, and make sure to check your storage.

To sum it up, the "Player Growth" event is best approached like this:

Play matches.

Earn EXP.

Gain stats.

Claim mission rewards.

Aim for season rewards too.

It is best to follow that flow as clearly as possible.

For anyone considering coming back to FC Online,

I hope today’s post was helpful.

There is no need to wear yourself out trying to play like a top-ranked player.

Install the game, and join the event.

That can be the starting point for enjoying the game again, just like it was for me.
