Maple Planet Class Recommendation: Fire/Poison Arch Mage, the Best Choice for Fast Leveling
피스타임

Hello!
This is Nexon Picker 피스타임.

I recently reached my 4th job advancement just one month after starting Maple Planet. The 4x EXP setting obviously helped a lot, but I think choosing Fire/Poison Mage also played a major role in leveling this quickly.

In Maple Planet, Ice/Lightning Mage or Bishop is often presented as the top class recommendation. But if your only objective is fast leveling, I would put Fire/Poison Mage at number one. Here’s why.
An All-Time Great 2nd Job Skill
Fire Arrow

Fire Arrow, the Fire/Poison Mage’s 2차 전직 skill, is arguably the strongest 2차 전직 skill in the entire game. Its single-target damage is already excellent, and in Maple Planet, which recreates pre-Big Bang MapleStory, it also hits up to 3 targets.

It is so efficient that even after 3차 전직, many players continue using Fire Arrow as their main skill instead of Explosion. Of course, part of that comes from the fact that Explosion is a somewhat awkward skill.
Even Faster Leveling After 3rd Job
Poison Mist Hunting

After 3차 전직, the core skill becomes Poison Mist. Poison Mist inflicts poison on enemies and keeps dealing damage until they are left at 1 HP.
If you spread Poison Mist throughout the entire map and then loop back to the beginning, you can finish mobs off with a single hit. It also works even with low Magic Attack, which makes gearing much easier.

For most other classes, Memory Lane 1 is a top-tier hunting map that usually does not become practical until at least level 120. Fire/Poison Mage, however, can start going there as soon as Mist is mastered after 3차 전직, which leads to explosive leveling. The potion cost from touch damage is definitely high, but you can cut that down by wearing clothes with the 2-second invincibility potential.
4th Job Skill
Meteor Master

After 4차 전직, each mage class gains its own overpowered AoE skill. Fire/Poison Mage learns Meteor, which allows for explosive leveling at Blue Wyvern’s Nest, a hunting map where it can exploit elemental weakness. Compared to Mist hunting, though, this route does require much higher Magic Attack and INT gear.

Also, because fewer players choose Fire/Poison Mage than Ice/Lightning Mage or Bishop, Meteor Mastery Books tend to be cheaper, making it easy to push the skill to level 30. As a result, reaching the one-shot threshold for Meteor farming in Memory Lane 1 is much easier than it is for Ice/Lightning Mage. It still does not match Bishop, which attacks weakness with Holy element, but Bishop has a much harder leveling curve during 2차 전직 and 3차 전직.

That wraps up my Maple Planet class recommendation. If fast leveling is your goal, Fire/Poison Mage is well worth considering. Let’s build one together and fill every corner of the Maple World with Mist.
