Let’s take a closer look at Kibo, the rideable mount in Azur Promilia.

Last May, the Azur Promilia CBT came to a close.

After playing it myself, I was genuinely surprised by how high the overall quality was, along with the full Korean voice acting. I was also caught off guard by just how many different Kibo show up in the game. With that in mind, today I’m putting together a guide to the mounts in Azur Promilia—in other words, the rideable Kibo.

How do you ride a Kibo?

Some of the Kibo in Azur Promilia can only be ridden after you unlock a Kibo saddle.

Early in the CBT, a lot of players were asking, “How do you ride that?” simply because they didn’t realize this system existed. The developers have since said they plan to expand the mount tutorial as part of the post-CBT improvements.

That update is expected to explain a range of systems more clearly, including saddle crafting, mounting and dismounting, mount switching, and feeding. Hunger consumption while riding is also being adjusted, which should make getting around on mounts much more comfortable.

Rideable Kibo

First up are the three starter Kibo you can obtain at the beginning of the game. Once they reach their final evolution, you can craft saddles for them and use them as mounts.

The lineup consists of the elegant Crown Fox with its crown-like horns, the huge and rugged Flame Rhinoceros, and the cool, handsome Beaver Master. Among the three, Beaver Master stands out as the only one that can also travel across water.

There’s also Star Manta. As the final evolution of Bunny Manta, it works as an all-purpose mount that can move through the air and across water.

Next is Frost Wolf. Its defining feature is the wing-like ice crystal formation on its back, and its lore describes it as a species that has endured harsh natural environments through exceptional teamwork. In heavily snow-covered areas, this feels like exactly the kind of mount you’d want. It also looks like it would be great at pulling a sled.

Among the Frost Wolves, the unique individual Ur grew up alongside the hunter Terara in Sharuru Village and formed a deep bond with her. During the CBT, this was actually the rideable Kibo I saw players using the most, and it was clearly very popular.

Freyzard is a Kibo that loves fighting every bit as much as its appearance suggests. For this species, combat is not just a way to settle disputes—it’s also a form of play and social interaction. Riding one around gives off the impression that your combat prowess has been recognized.

Elignyon has a soft, squishy look that feels a lot like the character Abi. It’s a dreamy yet elegant dragon species, and it also shares a deep bond with the Wood Elves.

Elignyon and Eolian

Eolian is one of the Dragon King’s kin, said to have existed since the age of dragons in ancient legend. It commands immense wind power—enough to stir up a storm, as if dragons were taking flight, with nothing more than a light wave of its hand.

Phantomfly is described as a fairy butterfly that lingers on the border between dreams and reality, forever out of reach. Because of that, you can’t encounter it normally in the field. To meet it, you have to enter a Hetero Starnest that only rarely appears on the map. Despite being a butterfly, it stands out for its striking, almost human-like appearance and its unique riding animation.

Surprisingly, it also has a cute but sharp-edged charm. That alone makes it feel like one a lot of players will be chasing after even after the official launch.

There are also special-colored Flame Leopards

Flame Leopard is a Kibo with sharp fangs and claws, and its habit of silently lying in ambush before hunting gives it a strong true-predator presence. When ridden, it leaves flame-shaped footprints on the ground, and the effect looks especially cool.

Wrapping up

Azur Promilia is currently running a Kibo sticker collecting event alongside pre-registration. Since the event lasts until June 30, it does make me wonder whether some notable new update might arrive once July begins. Players who take part are entered into a raffle for prizes such as an RTX 5080, Google gift cards, and acrylic stands, so it’s probably worth joining before the deadline passes.
