Maple Planet Nautilus Lazy Calico Quest Guide
게임하늘

Hello, this is GameSky.
Today, I’m jumping back into Maple Planet for the first time in a while. This time we’re doing a more straightforward quest over at the Nautilus: Lazy Calico, given by Bartol, that little treasure-box kid NPC.
Alright, let’s get into it.

Bartol asks whether you’ve been to the sailors’ bedroom at the end of the hallway. Then he answers your question with another question and asks if you’ve ever seen a guy named Calico there. Apparently Calico is the one who’s always dozing off, and Bartol wants to play a little prank on him. Pretty mischievous little NPC.

He says Calico stays up at night doing other things instead of sleeping, then spends the daytime nodding off, so he asks for your help scaring him with Evil Eye tails.

So Bartol tells you to gather 10 Evil Eye tails and throw them at Calico. He even wants you to yell that there’s a snake, which really drives home how delightfully little-devil-ish this NPC is.

Evil Eye Hunting Ground |

To hunt Evil Eyes, you’d normally head to Evil Eye Cave. But Maple Planet is a little different. Since it uses the post-Big Bang version, Evil Eyes also show up in Deep Forest Swamp. Evil Eyes are level 27, and since this quest starts at level 25, the difficulty feels pretty well matched.

Once you’ve collected 10 Evil Eye tails, head over to Calico at the Nautilus dock.

Calico is sleeping very comfortably. Judging by his sleep-talking, he seems to be a pretty big fan of meat.

Just like Bartol said, you scatter 10 Evil Eye tails in front of Calico and shout, “Snake! A snake!” to startle him. And when Calico wakes up...

Calico freaks out and yells at the top of his lungs. From that huge “Aaaaargh,” he really seems to hate snakes... even if these were technically just Evil Eye tails.

Calico scrambles up in a panic, and when he sees the player, he immediately insists he wasn’t sleeping. He also claims he knew they were Evil Eye tails and only pretended to be startled on purpose. It definitely didn’t look that way, but anyway, the final reward is 6,000 EXP. Since Maple Planet gives triple quest EXP, though, I ended up receiving 24,000 EXP. And with that, the Lazy Calico quest comes to an end.

Wrapping Up |

Today, we took a look at Lazy Calico. It’s basically just a simple EXP quest, but since you can clear it alongside the Evil Eye quest from The One Who Remembers while you’re already out hunting Evil Eyes, it’s not a bad one to pick up.
This has been GameSky. Thanks!
