MapleStory’s new class, Lete — a demon summoner with a uniquely charming appeal!

Hello!

This is Nexon Picker PEAK Time.

At the 2026 MapleStory Summer Showcase, the new job Lete was unveiled as a surprise. Considering the remaining update schedule, not many players were expecting a new job to be announced, which made the reveal feel even more welcome.

Today, let’s take a quick look at the release date for Lete, one of the headline additions in this summer update, along with the skill details revealed so far.

1. New Job Lete Release Date

Lete will launch on June 18, as soon as the summer update goes live. Challengers World will open at the same time as well. Since the showcase also revealed even stronger benefits for Challengers World, this looks like an especially good time to start fresh.

2. Introducing Lete

Lete is a new job built around the concept of a demon summoner. The job uses parchment as its exclusive weapon and fights by forming contracts with various beings through written agreements, giving it a particularly distinctive setup.

MapleStory has had summon-based jobs before, but Lete takes that idea a step further. It was designed as a fully summon-focused job, with almost no emphasis on direct attacks and summons handling nearly all of the combat. Director Kim Chang-seop also said he has wanted to make a job like this for a long time.

Lete’s racial background is interesting too. Like Demon Slayer and Demon Avenger, Lete belongs to the demon lineage, but appears as a separate demon race that crossed over from Masteria rather than being part of the Resistance. That sets the stage for a different story from the existing Demon classes.

Based on the revealed combat footage, Lete does not fight directly so much as let summons roam the battlefield and attack automatically. That should make the job especially comfortable for mobbing. It was particularly striking to see summons constantly moving across the screen and clearing out monsters.

Lete uses skills that increase summon attack speed, refresh summon duration, and grant additional buffs. In other words, the core playstyle seems to revolve around directly strengthening and managing your summons.

The same general approach applies in boss fights as well. However, Lete can also use two types of command skills to direct summons into specific actions.

There are separate commands for short and long cycles. When a command is activated, summons perform dedicated attacks, and when multiple summons chain their attacks together, extra hits are triggered for even stronger firepower.

3. Lete Leveling Event

Alongside Lete’s release, a Growth Support Event will also be held. Similar to the Crown update, it appears that any new character will be able to receive growth rewards.

These appear to include a 4x EXP Coupon, Unique Emblem Box, VIP Boost, Black Rebirth Flame, Experience Core Gemstone, Sol Erda Fragment, Unique Potential Scroll, and Symbol Selector Coupon.

In addition, Lete-exclusive rewards have also been prepared. These include the Summoner of Masteria title and various cosmetic items. These rewards can only be obtained by meeting certain conditions while playing Lete.

That wraps up our quick look at the release date and skills of MapleStory’s new job Lete. I’ve been playing MapleStory steadily again since recently returning, and just like how so many players flocked to Ren when it launched last year, it feels like MapleStory could be full of Lete players this year.
