The classes I recommend in MapleStory
하랑

In RPGs, one of the biggest decisions is picking your class.
And since MapleStory has 47 classes, a lot of people understandably struggle to choose.

For anyone stuck on that, the MapleStory website has a Class Introduction guide that covers all 47 classes,
and if you click the one that catches your eye,

you can watch battle footage along with a quick class overview. I really recommend watching a few different class videos
and making the one you like most your main.
Personally, I think your MapleStory main should always be an 애정픽, not something you picked purely for performance.
That way, even if your main turns into a total trash class later, you can still stick with it out of love..😂
So when I first started MapleStory, more than raw performance,
I chose Hoyoung as my main because the character design and skill effects were just that pretty.
So for anyone with similar taste to mine,
if I had to recommend a few MapleStory classes, I’d go with
Kinesis

The very first thing I look at when choosing a class in MapleStory is the class artwork. If the art looks good, you naturally get interested, and now that Kinesis got a remaster, the class artwork came out really, really well.
Especially because 6th job skills are designed based on the class artwork,
if you’re thinking ahead to the 6th job skills that’ll come later, picking a class with pretty art is honestly a good move.

Kinesis Ascent skill
The class art is gorgeous, so of course the 6th job Origin skill and Ascent skill turned out this good too!
On top of that, Kinesis skill effects are built around black and white, so they look clean and stylish,
which makes it a super satisfying class for people like me who care a lot about character design and skill effects.
The Kinesis skill effects are organized really well on NamuWiki, so I definitely recommend taking a look.
Ren

Ren, the new class revealed at the MapleStory 2025 Assemble Showcase

Ren Ascent skill
Like Kinesis, Ren has great character design and really nice skill effects, and since the controls feel easy like Bowmaster,
it’s the kind of class people recommend to most new MapleStory players, so if you’re just starting out, I’d say Ren is a great choice for your main.
If Kinesis leans black and white for its skill colors, Ren goes with black and red,
and if you look through Ren’s skills on NamuWiki, the flashy East Asian-style skill effects are seriously gorgeous.
Both Kinesis and Ren are good classes,
so I’d recommend trying them out on this Challengers server.
