How AI Has Changed Gaming Life: A Look into MapleStory
재파민

Hello to everyone who loves Nexon games,
I’m Jaepamin!

AI has become something we really cannot separate from anymore, so are you all using it a lot too? Personally, it feels like I spend part of every day alongside AI. Even when I am not directly chatting with it, the sites I use all have AI built into them already.
So today, I want to take a look through MapleStory at what parts of our gaming life have changed without us even noticing.
Checking item setup efficiency on stat conversion sites

There was a time when, just to figure out my exact combat power, I had to enter every single stat into Excel by hand. After that, MapleStory itself and community tools started to show converted stats and meaningful combat power values.

Because you can see exactly what you are lacking and which items are the most efficient to enhance, a lot of players use these tools.

It even shows detailed boss cutoffs, which makes it much easier to set your own benchmark. Without even testing the boss yourself, you can still get a pretty close estimate now.

The combat power shown in-game is also quite reliable, so it is definitely worth using well. It is especially helpful because it shows not only boss damage and ignore defense, but also exactly where those values are being sourced from.
For pretty commissions, ChatGPT

I also use ChatGPT whenever I need a Nexon PEAK thumbnail or another suitable image. You can even make AI illustrations in the main Maple community as well, so if you are still a new MapleStory player and have not tried it yet, feel free to use this as a reference.

Sometimes the quality is so high that I genuinely have to wonder whether it is an official image or something ChatGPT made, and that still amazes me every time. The image above is also a Maple athletics event image that I made by prompting ChatGPT.
Even so, guides still need to be written by my own hand!

Of course, I rely on AI and advanced sites for smaller functions, but when it comes to the writing itself, I still end up having to write it myself every time.
Since players feel differently about a game unless they actually play it for themselves, I do not think there is ever a single 100% correct answer in a game like MapleStory, where your direction can change depending on your situation. For that reason, I think player-written guides and the little tips you only realize after playing for a long time are better written by players themselves.
How has your gaming life changed? For me, what I like most is being able to enjoy games more comfortably. Thank you for reading!
