In this post, I would like to talk about some of the most memorable

rides (mounts) in MapleLand.

- What is a ride?

Riding is both an item and a type of skill that helps players

reach distant destinations a little faster.

It can be especially helpful when you need to travel on foot to areas far from town or

when you need to move more quickly through hunting grounds with rough terrain,

and for players with low movement speed or job classes without mobility skills,

it is an especially essential feature.

- What is riding like in MapleLand?

In MapleLand, there were not originally that many kinds of riding items.

At first, there were only the basic rides available

through quests unlocked after job advancement,

but as various events have been held and updates have continued,

the variety of rides has gradually been expanding.

Although they are not permanent and are mainly obtained through events,

the fact that even lower-level players can use them without much difficulty,

along with the growing number of rides with distinct designs and personalities,

makes them especially interesting.

So among these newer rides,

let us take a look at which ones personally left the strongest impression on me

one by one.

- Wild Boar / Silver Mane

The Wild Boar and Silver Mane rides have now become very familiar sights.

Wild Boar can be obtained by players who have completed their 3rd job advancement (Lv. 70) through a quest

in which they help Kenta, who is researching pheromones, receive the Monster Riding skill and a saddle,

and then lure a Wild Boar in Korean Folk Town to obtain the ride.

(+ 20 million mesos as a bonus..)

In addition, players who have completed their 4th job advancement (Lv. 120)

can use various quest materials and 50 million mesos

to upgrade it into the faster and sleeker Silver Mane.

What makes this one especially memorable is how a gentle-looking pig, charmingly moving about on its short legs,

can evolve into a much sleeker and sharper-looking boar.

Since it is a ride that can only be obtained after reaching a certain level,

it also serves as proof that you can truly feel how much stronger you have become,

which is why, even with its simple appearance, it ends up feeling all the more special.

- Croco Riding

(Not Croco)

Croco Riding lets you ride an Alligator,

and it was first introduced during the 2025 Chuseok event.

Even though it clearly looks like an Alligator, it is called Croco for reasons unknown,

and its defining feature is that you are literally riding the Alligator monster itself.

While hunting Alligators, which usually have flat backs and crawl close to the ground,

I had often thought it would be interesting to try riding one at least once,

so the fact that it was actually turned into a real mount is what makes it so fun.

It also comes with a surprisingly cozy bush saddle,

and you can even spot the little Egyptian plover on top of its head,

so with both the novelty of riding a monster and a certain cuteness to it,

it remains one of the rides I used often and remember most fondly.

- Mist Balrog Riding

This ride lets you travel on a slightly lighter-looking(?) Jr. Balrog,

and it was first introduced during the 2025 Christmas event.

It is an especially appealing ride because even now,

its greatest point is that you can ride around on Jr. Balrog, which is still a powerful field boss monster.

Since you are riding on the back of the large-bodied Jr. Balrog,

your character's elevated position creates a strangely imposing presence,

and above all,

the very fact that you can tame and ride around on a powerful monster has an undeniable style to it,

which is why I think it is such an attractive ride.

- Naked Bike / Pink Scooter Riding

This ride lets you travel on a somewhat compact bike,

and it was first introduced during the 2026 Lunar New Year event.

Although it is a little small, it still includes all the necessary details,

so its fairly realistic appearance is what makes this ride especially memorable.

In particular, within mysterious and dreamlike regions that feel almost otherworldly,

there is something especially striking about the irony of riding around on bikes that showcase modern technology.

That concludes this look at several rides with distinctive characteristics.

As for the rides other than Wild Boar and Silver Mane,

they are sometimes included in future event reward lists so that they can be obtained again,

so I hope you will not miss those upcoming events and will be sure to take part in them.!
