Today, I’ll give you a quick preview of the MapleStory showcase and also 사알짝 share a few good food spots nearby.

starts on Saturday, June 13 at 4 PM!
Showcase Venue & How to Get There
At first, the announcement said Olympic Stadium..
but the venue was suddenly changed to KINTEX.
If you live in Seoul, I know it’s probably extra disappointing that the event suddenly got moved somewhere farther away,
but as someone from Ilsan, I’ll give you a quick guide on how to get there.
1. Going by car
The parking lot at KINTEX is 진~짜 huge.
Of course, enough people can show up to fill even that giant lot, but if you’re driving, parking at the spots I circled makes it easy to look around Exhibition Hall 2.
2. Taking the GTX
It takes about 20 minutes to get from Seoul Station to KINTEX.
Get out at GTX Exit 5, then walk for about 5 minutes? and you’re there.
What Might Be in the Showcase
Trying to predict the showcase content ahead of time..!! kind of takes away some of the fun of the showcase!!
And if I start guessing and end up being right, that could turn into unnecessary controversy, so instead I’ll share a few places worth stopping by since you’re heading to Ilsan anyway!
Good Eats to Check Out While You’re in Ilsan
Since you’re making the trip anyway, here are a few Ilsan restaurants for anyone who wants to get there early and have lunch first.
Ilsan has an area called Bamnidan-gil, and it’s packed with restaurants and cafes.
I’ll recommend a few spots there.
1. Ilsan Kalguksu
A kalguksu spot that Ilsan locals are really proud of..!
This place only serves one thing: chicken kalguksu.
There can be a crowd, but the restaurant is really big and the turnover is fast, so seats usually open up pretty quickly.
2. Bamgasi Burger
This is one of the key spots that basically helped make Bamnidan-gil what it is today.
It’s a well-known place that keeps earning Blue Ribbon recognition.
3. Ban110
This is one of those places I don’t usually recommend much, because if it gets too popular, I won’t be able to go myself.. but I’m sharing it as a special exception.
Most of the food here is good, but the Hoi Lai Pad here is pretty unique, so definitely try it at least once.
4. Moom Aroi
This place used to be so popular that it was really hard to eat there,
but these days, it feels like the wait is at least a little better than it used to be.
5. Trianon
This cafe is right in front of KINTEX.
You have to get the scones here. The scones are seriously delicious.
Take a Walk While You’re in Ilsan
When you think of Ilsan, it’s Lake Park.
It’s ju~st a little ways from KINTEX, but I still recommend taking a walk around Lake Park and enjoying a bit of downtime.
