Phone overheating? Let’s make a custom water-cooling cooler!

Hey there.

Mapo Fries here.

Today, we’re making a DIY water cooler for keeping your phone from overheating while gaming.

Why even use a water cooler?

Simple.

When your phone heats up, performance drops.

So yeah, heat management is always important.

There are tons of cooling products out there

made to stop phones from overheating.

I usually only play most phone games in short bursts,

so I don’t worry about heat that much.

But idle games need to stay on all day, so at the very least,

I needed a cooler to keep them from shutting off due to overheating.

But coolers use extra power too, right?

So!

I’m going to make a super budget-friendly water cooler myself.

What you need

1 Ziploc bag, 1 tray (a plate works too)

You can probably see where this is going already, right?

First, fill the Ziploc about halfway with water.

Then seal the Ziploc, getting out as many air bubbles as possible.

If it’s got that nice sloshy wobble like this, you’re good.

Place it neatly in the tray.

Done!!

How to use it

Just set your phone on top like this, and it cools really well.

Works great even with the charger plugged in!

Ah, but why put it on a tray or plate?

The Ziploc is sturdy, so it probably won’t happen... but just in case it gets punctured or bursts,

you’d end up with water everywhere, so I put it in a tray to prevent that.

That’s just how water cooling works—

there’s only water cooling that’s already leaked, and water cooling that hasn’t leaked yet..!

Do this, and you can leave your game running all day without worrying about heat.
