A Collection of MapleStory’s Beautiful Nighttime Maps #야경 투어
마빡도로시

Hello
This time’s keyword is night view tour, and the focus is on the beautiful night scenes you can find in the game.
MapleStory does not currently have a system where backgrounds change with the time of day, but there are maps whose backgrounds are set at night or at sunset. I gathered some of the ones in this theme that left a particularly strong impression.
Kritias

Kritias is the village that served as a precursor to Morass in Arcane River. It features a dark sky with the moon overhead, along with a castle in the background that gives the impression that something is taking place there. The buildings also have the kind of design you might expect from a fantasy world, so if you enjoy this sort of atmosphere, I think you will find it quite appealing.
Crimsonwood

Crimsonwood may feel fairly unfamiliar now, since at present it can only be reached through the Maple Guide. You can access it through 130-139 Raiders' Den 1. It used to be one of the theme dungeons, but all of its main quests have now been removed, so it remains only for Monster Collection purposes.

As you can see, the background here is filled with reddish clouds. There are times when you happen to look up at the sky somewhere between day and evening, see it glowing red, and briefly feel as though the world might be ending. This sky captures exactly that feeling, which makes it quite striking.

Even indoors, you can look outside through the windows, and together with the interior atmosphere, it creates a very nice mood. On top of that, almost no other players come here now, and that adds even more to the overall feeling.

Crimsonwood is also one of the areas connected to Masteria, so many players feel it may end up being used in a different way after the Grandis region is wrapped up. The well-known Haunted Mansion is also tied to Masteria. That map also has a beautiful night view, but it is unfortunate that it is not somewhere you can visit at all times.
Magatia

Magatia is the village of alchemists, and when it comes to beautiful night views in MapleStory, it would probably rank near the top. Not only is the sky with its bright full moon lovely, but the buildings are also rendered very beautifully, which makes the whole map quite impressive.

Since the moon in Magatia is clearly visible from almost anywhere on the map, the scenery looks good no matter which building you choose,

and if you go all the way to the top of the Alcadno Association building on the right side of the map, you can even capture a shot with the moon right beside you.
Night of Falling Illusions

The location used as the event map for Night of Falling Illusions also received a great deal of praise at the time for how beautiful it was. Based on the Tallahart region, its fields of blooming blue flowers still look striking even now.

You can still get at least a little of that atmosphere from the chair that was given out as a reward at the time.
The BGM is also quite good, so if you have the time, I would recommend giving it a listen.
Japan and Taiwan in the World Tour maps

There are also some notable night views in World Tour, a set of maps that cannot currently be visited in KMS. First is Showa Town in the Japan area. The sunset glow is depicted very well. The Japan area also has another memorable night view, though in a rather different sense.

By MapleStory standards, it is a fairly eerie-looking map, which is one reason I personally like it. Unlike the moons in the other backgrounds shown so far, this one is also notable for being a crescent moon.

Next is Taiwan Night Market in the Taiwan area. It captures the lively, crowded atmosphere that is so distinctive to a night market. In truth, I do not have especially strong memories of visiting either of these regions directly in MapleStory, but it is interesting how their unique atmosphere has still stayed with me.
Seokchon Lake event map

Seokchon Lake is the event map for the Maple Attack event, which is now nearing its end. There is scenery from Boss Jin’s map, and there is also scenery based on Seokchon Lake itself. Early in the event, it showed a daytime version rather than a night view, but now that the event is in its final stretch, it has been changed at a very fitting time.

Even the basic ideas alone—a night scene filled with cherry blossoms and an amusement park at night—make these fairly striking backgrounds, and they have been implemented very well too, so it is unfortunate that once the event ends, it will no longer be possible to enter.
Thank you for reading.
