NEXON COMPUTER MUSEUM is now Nexon Museum—so what’s changed?
피스타임

Hello!
I’m Nexon Picker 피스타임.

On May 12, the Nexon Computer Museum in Jeju
reopened with a fresh new name: the Nexon Museum.
I remember visiting it myself back in 2019
when I was on a trip to Jeju, drawn in simply by the name Nexon.
Thirty years of history, all in one place

At the time, rather than feeling like a museum about Nexon itself,
it felt more like a museum centered on
computers and hardware, with a touch of Nexon added in.

Of course, there were plenty of game-related exhibits too,
so it was still a fun place to explore on that alone.

There were also several different arcade areas,
and I remember spending some time enjoying the games there.

There was even a MapleStory-themed minigame.
I still remember how unusual the controls felt.

And lastly, here’s a photo
my friend and I took with Dao.
It was already seven years ago, and the memories are still vivid.

What’s changed?

On May 12 this year, the Nexon Computer Museum
was revamped under the new name Nexon Museum.
And it’s not just the name that changed—
there have been plenty of updates inside as well.

Most notably, the first floor no longer focuses on the history of computers.
Instead, it now features spaces like Ready 4 Play for four-player co-op games
and Players Community for sharing play experiences,
putting the spotlight on players and their experiences.

The second floor keeps a game-archive feel similar to before,
but with a special exhibition for 바람의 나라,
its connection to Nexon feels even stronger now.

The third floor has been completely transformed
from a coding-focused workshop space into an immersive media art zone.
If you tag your admission card at the kiosk,
a representative character from the game you’ve played most recently
appears on screen and begins a personalized journey.
You can also take in LED media art that fills the walls
with data and player history from Nexon’s major IPs, including 바람의 나라, MapleStory, Mabinogi, and Blue Archive.
It’s all presented as a sweeping visual experience.

The food area has also been turned into
a Pink Bean-themed café called Cafe MapleStory.

From MapleStory-themed food
to a variety of goods, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Lastly, here are the location and hours.
Back when it was still the Nexon Computer Museum,
it was, true to its name, a place about the development of computers and the birth of games.
Now, as the Nexon Museum, it feels like a space where the memories we built through Nexon games
come to life in the real world through striking media art.
The next time I’m in Jeju, I’d really love to stop by again!
