Maple Island, MapleStory's 23rd-anniversary in-person event

I'd been wanting to go for ages, so a friend and I picked a day and went, but even on a weekday,

the place was packed. Maybe we'd hit field trip season for middle and high school students.

Not an easy place to be an introvert—the second I stepped into Lotte World, I wanted to turn around and leave😭

But I couldn't just do that..!

The first thing I wanted to do at Lotte World was get my MapleStory character up on the big screen, so

as soon as we got inside, I headed straight to Lotte World's Meeting Plaza.

With all those people around, I was expecting a queue, but this spot was surprisingly quiet.

If you don't have a MapleStory character, you can make one to suit your taste,

and if you already have one like I do, you can load your MapleStory character.

Once you've chosen your character and tapped the share button,

your character appears on a pretty card like this. Tap to flip it over, and there's your QR code.

Hold it up to the machine wearing an Orange Mushroom cap and you'll hear a beep—then a few seconds later, your character pops up on the big screen.

My friend went first, so their MapleStory character was up first,

and then mine appeared. So pretty!!!!

I was too busy taking photos to get a video, so my friend filmed it for me, and it turned out so well.

I was going to post it here as a GIF, but my friend's reaction was too funny, so I went with the video insteadㅋㅋㅋ

In all my time playing MapleStory, nothing has made me happier than someone complimenting my character's outfit.

This is why I dress up my character in MapleStoryㅎㅎㅎ

Once the big version of your character disappears, a tiny version starts wandering around in the background,

and seeing my friend's character and mine roaming around together was so cute!!

I don't know who came up with this event, but they seriously get it.

This was the whole reason I wanted to come to Lotte World.

Next, we headed over to Maple Island to try the 4 MapleStory attractions,

but the Lotte World app showed a 1-hour wait for every single one, so

we gave up on riding them all and settled on just Pink Bean Gyro Spin.

Standing outside for 1 hour in that heat, I must've thought, "Should we just bail?" dozens of times..😂

I couldn't let all that waiting go to waste, so we stuck it out and finally got on Pink Bean Gyro Spin,

and it hadn't looked scary while I was watching, but actually riding it? Pretty scary.

Through the first half or so, I was all smiles and having fun like Jin,

but toward the end, my smile disappeared just like Chang-seop hyung's,

and I was just waiting for the ride to endㅋㅋㅠ

Lotte World was so crowded that I was already worn out even though we'd barely done anything,

so I didn't even get to check out the MapleStory parade or food. I just took a few photos of the scenery,

browsed the MapleStory merch shop a little, and left. It felt like a waste of the Lotte World all-day pass, but

that many people? Nope, nope, way too much for this introvert~🥺

Our next stop was Henesys Mushroom Park.

Location: World Park Lawn Plaza, Lotte World Tower, Jamsil

Dates: May 22, 2026 (Thu) ~ June 21, 2026 (Sun)

I was really worried it'd be as crowded as Lotte World, but it was surprisingly quiet, which was such a relief.

During the event, there's a Bubble Shower Time every hour on the hour from 11 a.m. ~ 8 p.m. We lucked out and arrived while it was happening, so I took loads of photos, and they turned out so pretty!

There are all sorts of events happening at Henesys Mushroom Park,

and all the details are on Maple Attack, so just check that out and follow the instructions.

In Henesys Jump King, your MapleStory character jumps when you do, so you've got to keep jumping

to get your character to the top of the jump map.

You get Orange Mushroom popcorn just for taking part.

The time attack TOP 10 prizes are 100,000 Nexon Cash and a SteelSeries wireless gaming mouse.

We watched from behind as other people played, and it looked fun enough that we considered joining in,

but our feet hurt so much from all the walking that we ended up passingㅠ

For the Zombie Mushroom Haunt Photo Event, you visit the Zombie Mushroom haunt in Henesys Mushroom Park,

pick a MapleStory weapon prop, and take a Polaroid of yourself hunting Zombie Mushmom, then enter the photo event

for a chance to win 100,000 Nexon Cash in a drawing.

Unfortunately, this one only runs on weekends and holidays, so our weekday visit meant we couldn't take part,

but I hope you all get to go on a weekend or holiday and snag that 100,000 Nexon Cash..

The Treasure Mushroom Hunting Mission also only runs on weekends and holidays, so we didn't get to try it,

but apparently, if you scan a QR code inside Henesys Mushroom Park and hunt 5 mushrooms,

you can win all sorts of prizes in a drawing.

For the Stamp Rally Mission, you visit 6 locations and take photos of the hidden Pink Beans

to collect stamps.

The 1-stamp reward is an Orange Mushroom balloon and coupons for 메키, MapleStory M, and MapleStory Worlds.

The 6-stamp reward is a MapleStory coupon, plus entry into a drawing

for a Henesys resident ID card (1 winner) and a MapleStory merch package (10 winners), so I gave it a go.

For the Henesys Mushroom Park stamp, head to Lotte World Mall's World Park Lawn Plaza

and find Pink Bean wearing a party hat, then snap a photo.

For the UNIQLO Lotte World Mall stamp, head to the front of the UNIQLO store on the 1st floor of Lotte World Mall

and snap a photo of Pink Bean wearing a UNIQLO MapleStory T-shirt.

There were UNIQLO MapleStory T-shirts right next to Pink Bean, so I had a look,

and the Toben-haired warrior looked so funnyㅋㅋ

For the Lotte World Mall Pop-up Store stamp, head to Atrium Plaza on the 1st floor of Lotte World Mall

and snap a photo of the guitar-holding giant Pink Bean.

There was a MapleStory pop-up store next to the giant Pink Bean, so I popped in for a look,

and there was so much pretty merch.

For the Lotte Cinema World Tower stamp, head to Lotte Cinema on the 5th floor of Lotte World Tower

and snap a photo of Pink Bean watching a movie.

I spotted this MapleStory movie while taking photos of Pink Bean: 디어 마이 히어로ㅋㅋㅋ

Apparently, it opens at Lotte Cinema theaters nationwide on June 14, 2026.

They'll also have an event for moviegoers, a Cine Park exhibition, and a cinema store after it opens, so go check it out~

For the 7-Eleven Lotte World Mall Aquarium stamp, head to the front of the 7-Eleven store on basement level 1 of Lotte World Mall

and snap a photo of Pink Bean working a convenience store shift.

The convenience store sells MapleStory snacks too, so once you've collected your stamp,

this is a good place to pick some up if you want them.

For the Seokchon Lake Art Balloon stamp, head to the walking path around Seokchon Lake's East Lake

and snap a photo of Pink Bean playing in the water with a duck.

While doing the mission, I spotted the giant Orange Mushroom and Slime floating on Seokchon Lake. So cute~

Finally, the 6-stamp mission was complete!!

Time to head to the prize redemption booth and get our gifts.

The prize redemption booth is right next to Henesys Jump King,

and all you have to do is show this screen to the staff.

The Orange Mushroom balloon was bigger than I expected and wouldn't fit in my bag, so I had to carry it in my hand all the way home,

and being the only one holding an Orange Mushroom balloon on a packed subway was pretty embarrassingㅎ..

Once I got home, I logged into MapleStory and tried out the 6-stamp mission rewards. They looked so pretty.

My first in-person MapleStory event in a while.

Maple Island was too crowded for me to really enjoy it, but I got to have plenty of fun at Henesys Mushroom Park, so I'm happy. If I have time, I'll definitely have to make it to another in-person MapleStory event~!
