Hello, this is Game Sky.

Today, we’ll be taking a look at Maple Planet. This time, rather than covering a quest, I want to go over Ice/Lightning, one of the most popular jobs in Maple Planet right now. Ice/Lightning was also one of the most favored classes in Mapleland. So for those of you leveling an Ice/Lightning character, today I’ll be going over the Maple Planet Ice/Lightning skill build.

With that, let’s get started.

Table of Contents

  • 1st Job Skills

  • 2nd Job Skills

  • 3rd Job Skills

  • 4th Job Skills

1st Job Skills

Energy Bolt 1 -> Improved MP Recovery 5 -> Improved MaxMP Increase MAX -> Magic Claw MAX -> Improved MP Recovery MAX -> Magic Guard MAX

First, let’s look at the 1st Job Magician. For 1st Job mage skills, a lot of players usually put 1 point into Energy Bolt. However, I personally put the first point into Magic Claw. Of course, that’s just my personal preference. As for passive skills, make sure to max them. Some players do put points into Magic Armor, but most seem to prefer Magic Guard. Personally, though, I think the two are fairly similar. For your attack skill, Magic Claw is the obvious choice.

2nd Job Skills

MP Eater 1 -> Teleport 1 -> MP Eater MAX -> Thunderbolt MAX -> Teleport MAX -> Meditation MAX -> Cold Beam MAX -> Slow 1

Next are the 2nd Job skills. As expected, it’s best to start with the fundamentals. The passive MP Eater and Teleport for mobility are both absolutely essential. For attacking, Thunderbolt is better for grinding, so it tends to be preferred over Cold Beam while training. Cold Beam, however, deals higher damage. Personally, since you already have Magic Claw from 1st Job, I prefer maxing the passive and mobility skills first, then moving on to Thunderbolt.

3rd Job Skills

Element Amplification 1 -> Ice Strike MAX -> Element Amplification MAX -> Magic Booster MAX -> Magic Composition 30 -> Seal 20 -> Partial Resistance 20 -> Thunder Spear 1

Once again, passive skills are generally preferred first. I personally tend to max the passive skills first and then invest in attack skills. As for Booster, I usually leave it for later after gaining a few levels. That said, Magic Booster is more valuable than it may seem, so some players do choose to take it first.

4th Job Skills

Chain Lightning MAX -> Maple Warrior 9 -> Ice Demon MAX -> Ifrit MAX -> Infinity MAX -> Blizzard 1 -> Big Bang MAX -> Maple Warrior 19 -> Mana Reflection MAX -> Hero’s Will 1

From 4th Job onward, there are no passive skills, so the standard approach is to max Chain Lightning first since it is so good for grinding. Hero’s Will is especially useful against bosses that use debuff skills. Also, keep in mind that from 4th Job onward, you will need Mastery Books.

Today, we went over the Maple Planet Ice/Lightning skill build. Personally, I prefer to invest in passive skills first, then attack skills, and Booster after that. The reason is simple: passive skills are just that valuable. Booster is important as well, but compared to passive skills, I think it tends to be a lower priority. Still, building your skills in a way that matches your own preference is also very important.
