In this summer heat, a trip somewhere cool sounds welcome—even if it’s only in a game.

When I think of places to beat the heat in MapleStory,

El Nath is always the first that comes to mind.

Once you reach level 90 in 메이플 플래닛,

you can accept the Giant Creature of the Snowfield quest from Jade.

Jade says he came across

a giant Yeti traveling on skis.

Scadur, a hunter in El Nath,

says meeting the Yeti was actually a stroke of luck,

brushing it off as nothing to worry about.

But Jade insists the Yeti attacked first,

and Scadur says there must be a reason why Snowman, the master of the El Nath Mountains,

is angry. He asks you to investigate.

To search for traces of Snowman,

take the Danger Zone Taxi to Ice Valley.

Head all the way down in Ice Valley I,

and you’ll find a hidden portal at the signpost.

Head up to find a broken statue.

It turns out this is what made Snowman angry.

Scadur needs to restore the statue,

but first he asks you to hold Snowman off for a while.

It certainly looks as though we killed him,

but let’s just say we knocked him out for now.

When you return to Scadur afterward,

he tells you to visit Alcaster,

who gives you an ice crystal.

Head back to the statue,

and you’ll be able to restore it.

The quest rewards you with 20 Fame and EXP—a nice payoff.

And with that, the master of the El Nath Mountains,

Snowman, disappeared without a trace.

Whether he left because he had calmed down or disappeared because he had died…

We set out to beat the heat but ended up beating Snowman instead.

Still, it was an interesting quest set against the chilly backdrop of El Nath.
