Fight heat with heat! A hands-on review of the DNF Mobile x 땅스부대찌개 collab

There’s a four-character idiom in Korean, 이열치열(以熱治熱). Literally, it means “fight heat with heat” — in other words, beat the hot weather with something hot.

Recently, the DNF collab has been running a Ttangs Budaejjigae collaboration event, and with the weather just starting to warm up, it felt like perfect timing to try a little 이열치열 and take on the heat.

So I ordered it right away and put together this hands-on review.

Collab Menu and Tasting Review

The collab menu is the Dungeon&Fighter Mobile Full Combo Jjamppong Budaejjigae Set.

It will be sold through Thursday, May 28, and the delivery app price is 20,400 won.

The set includes the new menu item Jjamppong Budaejjigae, first released around last November, 3 pieces of yubuchobap that launched around this past January, and a game coupon.

There are a few things to keep in mind.

It arrives uncooked, so you need to transfer it to a pot and boil it yourself. If you want to keep things easy and not worry about dishes, you can add a disposable pot for 2,500 won. It’s also worth noting that the only rice included is the yubuchobap, so you’ll need to prepare rice separately or order extra.

The yubuchobap comes frozen, so it needs a quick spin in the microwave. For a frozen item, it tasted better than expected: the rice was pleasantly firm, and there were tiny bits of ham, vegetables, and egg mixed in.

The Jjamppong Budaejjigae is basically the standard base of ham, shredded green onion, rice cakes, wide glass noodles, meat, ramyeon noodles, tofu, and mushrooms, with chili oil and a smoky sauce added.

It’s also a bit spicier than the original, so the taste may be slightly polarizing. Still, I thought it made for a nice special treat.

Coupon Contents and How to Redeem

On the front of the coupon, you’ll find the Male Fighter and Ttangs characters, while the coupon code is printed on the back. It can be redeemed until June 30, and each account can redeem up to 10 times.

The coupon rewards are a choice between the Ttogi hat and the Hamgu hat, 10 Jjamppong Budaejjigae (Tuhampoh), and 30 yubuchobap (Remy). If you want both hat types, you’ll need to order twice.

In-Game Event Summary

In Dungeon&Fighter Mobile, the Male Fighter’s Full Combo Budaejjigae Event runs until the May 28 maintenance.

You can clear it fairly naturally by visiting the Ttangs Budaejjigae Hendon Myre branch and spending Fatigue while running dungeons and Hell Parties.

The Hendon Myre branch is located to the left of Seria’s Room in Hendon Myre. Talk to it, and you’ll get the event intro text and be able to claim rewards.

Even the Domino’s Pizza collab didn’t go as far as adding a building like this, so you can really feel how much care went into this one.

The rewards include Ttogi and Hamgu creatures, a damage font, chat stickers, a furniture registration ticket, and 500 Hell Party Invitations, with the final reward being the Budae Fairy Seria creature.

The creatures are appearance-only, and the overall quality is quite good.

This was my first time seeing Ttangs’ mascot characters, and they have a bit of that Damgomi and Manggeureojin Gom feel while also being genuinely cute. The motion quality also clearly shows a lot of care.

The furniture is a neatly plated budaejjigae set arranged on top of a pot, and it looks quite nice when placed on a table.

Wrapping Up

That wraps up my review of the Dungeon&Fighter Mobile x Ttangs Budaejjigae collab, along with a quick event guide. I don’t personally eat budaejjigae that often, but it’s one of those dishes that sounds especially good once in a while. Thanks to this collab, I got to try the new menu item and had a genuinely fun experience. The event ends next Thursday, so if you want to battle the heat with a little 이열치열 while enjoying something a bit different, this is well worth ordering once.
