I tried a purple color hunt in DNF Mobile.

In games, purple is strongly associated with dark magic, necromancy, curses, poison, the dead, and otherworldly races. DNF Mobile follows that pattern as well. To see how well it brings out purple’s appeal, I tracked it through a round of color hunting.
Magic Bullet 6 Reina

A mid-boss in the recently updated elite dungeon, "Tower of Despair." She overwhelms the screen with frantic attacks using guns, a gunblade, and cursed magic bullets. Even without relying on overt magic or poison, that striking purple dress alone gives her an unmistakably dangerous presence.

Most of the bosses in the Sirocco Raid, added in last March’s update, also make heavy use of purple. The reason is simple: they are beings corroded by the Apostle Sirocco.
Faint Hitana
Crimson and pale pink serve as the main colors, with purple used as a secondary tone. Where the red palette creates an alluring but dangerous charm, the purple palette evokes the feel of the dead. That fits the character’s setting as well, since she died long ago and became a soul of the underworld.

Bleak Memory
The black-and-purple combination reinforces the impression of something unreal, something dead. In the setting, it is a being shaped from the negative memories of a character named Roxy.

Struggling One Lalaa
This version is based on the setting in which the dark elf Lalaa falls under Hitana’s mental control. Because she was once an ally of the protagonist, the result feels even more tragic. As a dark elf, her skin tone already leans toward purple, and the demonic sword she carries is accented in the same color.

Sirocco of Erosion
The final boss, Sirocco. Her blood-red long hair and purple-toned outfit firmly establish her as the peak expression of an alluring yet dangerous design. The gold accents in her accessories and eyes are especially effective.

Black Dragon Neiser
Neiser, the final boss of the Black Dragon Raid that appeared before the Sirocco Raid, also makes strong use of purple. The key difference from Sirocco is that purple tones are barely visible among Black Dragon Neiser’s subordinates.
Once the admiral of the Black Dragon pirate crew, he gradually evolved after taking part in Dr. Giselle’s experiment and gaining control over amplified dark power. In his final form, the wings even introduce lime tones, giving him the look of a poison-spewing insect.

That does not mean purple is reserved for enemies alone. A few NPCs also make notable use of it, with Kongkongi and Iris standing out as representative cases.
Kongkongi
A fish-person woman of unknown age, she came to the surface with her friend Chorong driven by ambitions of making a fortune. If a job or an item looks profitable, her eyes light up immediately.

Iris
A bard and famous fortune-teller, Iris has appeared consistently from the opening story onward. Recently, after Sirocco’s defeat, hints surfaced that she had made contact with Hilder, pushing her into focus as a character to watch.

Poison King
The playable character Poison King (Street Fighter) also stands out in purple because poison is his primary means of attack. Green poison appears from time to time as well, but that tends to be associated mainly with plant-type monsters. Beyond Poison King, purple is also prominent in dark-element classes such as Dark Templar and Soul Bringer.

Shampoo
The Shampoo avatar, recently added through the Ranma 1/2 collaboration, also features purple hair. It is not a common hair color, but paired with her rounded bun hairstyle, it creates a lively and cute impression.
Closing Thoughts
Looking at a game through the lens of a single color makes the whole exercise more interesting, mainly because recurring patterns start to emerge. It is worth trying some color hunting for yourselves in the games you enjoy.
