MapleStory’s Summer Eve attendance event, and the many little summer-themed touches that came with it #더위사냥

Hello
This time, the keyword is Beat the Heat, and the focus is on looking back at the various summer-themed elements found throughout the game.
With that in mind, I put together a few thoughts on the things that immediately come to mind when you think of summer in MapleStory, along with the summer-themed attendance event that is currently underway.
The ill-fated region, Florina Beach

If there is one iconic place that instantly comes to mind when talking about summer in MapleStory, Florina Beach really cannot be left out. Modeled after the beaches of Florida, it left a strong impression with its clear skies, blue ocean, and stretches of sand, so it is a place I remember well myself, and one that plenty of other players still seem to remember too.

At some point, it was changed into an inaccessible area like the one shown above, and now, unfortunately, it has disappeared altogether. Since it already felt a bit like an extra or side-story region, and with the addition of Gold Beach Resort, which shares a similar concept, along with changes to the overall leveling route that left the area in an awkward spot, this seems to have been the end result.

Because of that, the Free Travel Ticket that players could once obtain through a quest has become completely pointless, and it is oddly interesting to see posts here and there still expressing regret over it. Even so, I do think it is fortunate that in old-school MapleStory experiences like MapleLand, the area was at least able to enjoy some recognition again as a popular hunting spot, if only for a while.

And as of now, there is only one place left in PC MapleStory where Florina Beach can still be seen: Floors 18 and 19 of The Seed. The master monster King Clang appears in Mu Lung Dojo, but aside from that, Clang, Lorang, and Torte can only really be found here.

This is even mentioned officially in the World Archive. Considering that The Seed was created as an ark by the Transcendent of Life to preserve environments and living creatures that had been pushed to the brink of extinction, it may not have been planned that way from the beginning, but in hindsight it feels like a surprisingly meaningful way of carrying on a lost region.
<Outlaws of the Beach>, an event that truly felt like summer

The Outlaws of the Beach event was held quite a long time ago. I do not really remember playing it myself, but it still left an impression because both its structure and its rewards were so distinctive.

As you can see, the event played out through water-balloon attacks against the opposing side, and to me it almost feels even more immediate and lively than Crazy Splash, the collaboration event with Crazy Arcade.

The rewards were also a perfect fit for summer. In particular, the Summer Photocard Chair stands out as a rather unusual item, since it was made based on official illustration art.

This event has not returned since 2017, but comparatively recently, its motif did appear again through Legendary Card artwork based on the illustration from this collection card that was sold not too long ago.
2026 Summer Eve Event: Summer Countdown

Lastly, while MapleStory does not really run separate events built around summer-themed items like these very often anymore, there is one event that has firmly settled in as part of the season, and that is Summer Countdown.

This event is not limited to summer either, since it also returns during the winter season under the name Winter Countdown. It begins one month before June and December, the months when the major updates start in earnest.

The participation method is very simple: all you have to do is press the attendance button once a day, and repeat that 15 times within the event period. If you do only that, you can still claim every reward.
One distinctive point of this event is that the rewards are split into two parts: the “Countdown Gift” and the “Summer Gift,” both tied to the period before the first update of the season begins. Of the two, the Summer Gift is especially helpful because it can also be claimed in the Challengers World that will open with the first summer update, which in this case is June 18. The reward lineup changes each time, but the value is consistently quite high.
[Countdown Gift] Total
Available to claim until Wednesday, June 17, 11:59 PM / Cannot be used by characters created after the update

-
4x EXP Coupon (30 min) x4
-
VIP Sauna Recharge Ticket x6
-
VIP Booster x30
-
Advanced EXP Exchange Coupon x3000
-
Extreme Growth Potion x4
-
Transcendent Growth Potion x1
[Summer Gift]
Available to claim after maintenance on Thursday, June 18, and can therefore be claimed by characters created after the update
-
Sol Erda x10
-
Sol Erda Fragment x300

Also, whenever your attendance total reaches 5, 10, and 15, you receive event skills like the ones shown above, complete with tonic-style effects. These also remain active in Challengers World until July 1, when the event ends, so they are extremely useful, especially when taking on boss missions.

As for the bonus mission, it requires defeating 10,000 daily level range monsters, so it is not exactly an easy one, and because of the event period, this reward likewise cannot be given to Challengers World.

As mentioned earlier, this event is a tremendous help if you are planning to build up a character in Challengers World. Since the event period is fairly long, even if you begin checking in on June 4, you can line it up exactly with the June 18 opening of Challengers World, so if you have plans to progress there, it is well worth taking just a brief moment each day to do your attendance. Of course, the rewards can also be claimed in regular worlds.
Attendance is still possible even after June 18 as well, so even if you are busy and only begin checking in on June 17, the day before the summer update, you can still claim every reward through the 15-attendance milestone. If you start on the update day itself, June 18, however, please keep in mind that you will need to buy one pass for 3,000 Maple Points.
Thank you for reading.
