In this post, I’d like to talk about some MapleStory content that can help blow away the fierce summer heat.

Now that brief spring has passed and summer is slowly creeping in with the heat,

let’s take a look at a few places that pair perfectly with summer and their refreshingly cooool scenery.

🏖 Florina Beach

First up is Florina Beach, another island neighboring Victoria Island.

You can get there by talking to Payson in Lith Harbor,

a seaside town that already feels like it should be full of cool, salty ocean breeze,

and what really stands out here is that it feels like a very peaceful island

where you could relax beneath the shade of giant palm trees and take in the gentle sea breeze.

It was also once considered a pretty great hunting area,

with the Warm Sandy Beach (Dda-mo) map, where you could hunt Clang and Lorang to your heart’s content for drops like the yellow umbrella and Spear for ATT 60%.

With that breezy atmosphere and the chance to chase some satisfying loot at the same time,

it really does feel like one of the best places for forgetting the summer heat.

💦 Aquarium

This time, let’s go all the way under the sea to a truly unique place: Aquarium (Aqua Road).

It’s an underwater region you can reach through the corridor at Orbis Tower<1st Floor> in El Nath, that winter-only sort of region,

and once you’re there, you can experience free swimming alongside cool, refreshing scenery.

It’s not just the background, either—there are fish swimming freely around the map as well,

so it really does feel like you’re traveling deep under the sea.

The movement can feel unfamiliar and a little awkward since it’s so different from the way you normally travel,

but if you want that blue, refreshing feeling that can sweep the heat away,

I really don’t think there’s anywhere quite like Aqua Road—it has a charm you just can’t find anywhere else.

Especially in the deep cave at the very bottom of Aqua Road, the giant fish Pianus awaits,

so it’s a chance to test how much stronger you’ve become and also pick up some solid loot that makes you forget the heat,

which makes it hard for high-level players to pass up.

👻Phantom Forest

Last up is Phantom Forest, a place where you can really lean into that essential summer thrill of fear.

You can get there by taking Bell in the Kerning City Subway to New Leaf City, then transferring through the NLC Taxi,

and just looking at it gives off the sense that all sorts of ghosts and strange happenings could break out at any moment.

At first, the relatively cute Junior Wraiths are there to greet you, but..

soon enough, a vast forest opens up where every map looks exactly the same, almost like a maze,

and since you can’t use a return scroll to go back to town,

you really start to feel that helpless isolation of being alone in a huge place where you can’t even tell where you are.

And on top of that..

on the occasions when you run into the high-level boss monsters that appear at set intervals,

you can quite literally feel a chill run down your spine.

Especially once you’ve made it all the way through Phantom Forest and try to force your way through Hero’s Gorge with no protection,

the moment a fast-approaching pillar stabs into your character and you take the kind of damage you’re not used to seeing..

that fear is enough to raise goosebumps and blow the heat away in an instant.

Beyond those, there’s also

the snowy town you miss more and more as the weather gets hotter, El Nath Mountains.

the refreshingly cool town you may never see again in your life, Coke Town.

and even Rien Island, where Aran, the hero who would save the Maple world, was trapped in ice by the Black Mage’s curse...

There are all sorts of places like these that feel ready to wash away the summer heat.

So, that was a quick look at a few places that seem able to chase off the summer heat just by looking at them.
