I'm 제이메르, a Nexon Picker.

Sometimes I think the people we meet in games give us more strength than skill or gear ever could.

Whenever I was finding my feet in an unfamiliar game, kind people were there to help, asking for nothing in return,

and they're a big part of why I've kept enjoying games all this time.

Today, looking back on Mabinogi, MapleStory, and Mabinogi Mobile,

I'd like to share 3 stories from my time playing Nexon games

about the warmth of a mentor's kindness.

1. Mabinogi

First, let's go back to 2019, when I joined a close friend in Mabinogi on PC for the very first time!

Back then, my character had a cute little chick icon floating overhead to show I was a newbie.

Maybe that was why(?) so many players would come over even when I was just standing around in town,

with plenty of them showering me with all sorts of useful items.

Thanks to those warmhearted veterans spoiling me with gifts, I wanted for nothing in my newbie days!

While sorting through my albums recently, I came across some screenshots from 2019.

They got me wondering whether the people who helped me back then are still playing.

Those early days really showed me just how caring Mabinogi players could be!

2. MapleStory

Next is a memory from around 2020 in MapleStory.

I'd played MapleStory quite often since childhood, but I'd never really stuck with leveling a single character.

Then, at a friend's suggestion, I settled in Scania and joined a guild,

and that's when I really got into MapleStory.

At the time, I didn't know the first thing about gearing up, let alone boss attack patterns,

but my guildmates and friends patiently walked me through everything over Discord.

These days, I can clear Normal Lucid on my own without much trouble,

but I'll never forget the thrill of finally beating that boss after a tough fight with our 5-person party!

Thanks to my guildmates, I eventually grew strong enough

to lend Legion gear to friends who were just starting out

and support them in other ways, passing that kindness on!

We've since gone our separate ways as real life got busy, and I've moved worlds too,

but when I look back at photos from those days, remembering all the struggles and laughter we shared still warms my heart ㅎㅎ

3. Mabinogi Mobile

Evidence of all those lively Discord chats(?)

Finally, here's a story from Mabinogi Mobile, which I've been enjoying lately.

Right now, our guild has only two players who main Archer, including me.

With so few people playing the class, I was having a hard time finding a good guide,

but my fellow Archer in the guild taught me so much.

They spent so much time helping me get the hang of the class, and my character is much stronger now thanks to them :D

Then, when Abyss Hell stage 10 first came out, it was so tough that I nearly gave up.

But my trusty guildmates carried me through, and I managed to clear all 4 without a hitch!

Looking back, I've had so much help along the way!
