Anime I’d recommend throwing on while grinding in Maple and doing 재획

Today, since I spotted a “masterpiece anime recommendation” keyword mission,

I figured I’d recommend an anime that’s perfect to throw on while doing 재획 in Maple.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

The main character, Frieren, is an elven mage with a lifespan that’s practically eternal, and she’s one of the heroes who defeated the Demon King alongside her companions Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen, but after Himmel dies of old age, she attends his funeral and is hit with this deep regret that, for all the time they spent together, she never really tried to understand him.

So this time, with a real desire to understand people, she sets out on a new journey with Fern, Stark, and Sein, and their final destination is Aureole, the resting place of souls, with the story following all the different things that happen as Frieren and her companions make their way there.

Even Maple and Mabinogi players who haven’t watched Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End have probably heard of it anyway, because

it had a collab with Mabinogi in 2024,

20260206_1257_5c6-319c-4900-a0ed-daf2dad83320

and then in 2026 it collabed with MapleStory.

That kind of collab creates this nice synergy where Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End fans start playing Maple because of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End,

and Maple players end up checking out the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime,

and this time, while I was writing a post on Nexon PEAK about the collab with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, I got curious about what kind of anime it actually was and gave it a watch.

What I felt while watching it was, maybe, that it has this really calm and healing kind of atmosphere? It feels like the kind of anime that’s easy to watch while casually doing 재획.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End uses classic fantasy elements like heroes and demon kings, and that matches Maple’s worldbuilding really well.

Maple, too, has the Maple Hero and NPCs from all kinds of regions joining forces to defeat the Black Mage and his followers,

and now the story is moving toward taking down an even stronger final boss, Aaron.

So unlike when it collabed with Demon Slayer or One Punch Man, this one didn’t feel out of place at all.

Instead of just selling Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End cosmetic items, I really wish they’d done an event too, like Mabinogi did,

but since the collab felt rushed, it was honestly pretty disappointing that there wasn’t one.

At the moment, the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End anime is out through season 2, and apparently season 3 is coming around October 2027.

There’s still plenty of time before season 3 starts airing, so why not watch it one episode at a time while you do your 재획?
