Hello.

This time, the keyword is game orchestra, and the focus is on in-game BGMs that I would like to hear performed in an actual concert setting.

Before getting to that, it is worth noting that MapleStory’s BGM has long been well regarded in a number of respects, and several live orchestral performances have in fact been staged on that basis. As of the date of writing, concerts have been held under a total of four themes, and they were successful enough to tour nationwide.

Previously held MapleStory orchestra performances

For the performances whose official live footage is available on YouTube, or whose soundtracks have been uploaded, I have included the relevant links. Since the BGMs performed at each concert are generally listed only by their original track titles, I also added Korean notes explaining where each piece was used, for easier reference.

Lastly, [Symphony of MapleStory New Beginning], the most recent entry, was held in 2024. At present, there is no particularly substantial video record available beyond the official promotional page and the teaser video.

As for the program itself, most of the selections can be seen to overlap with pieces that had already been chosen in earlier concerts.

If I were to name a BGM I would personally like to hear in a grand arrangement

As the lists above probably make clear, the BGMs selected for these concerts tend to be pieces universally recognized as standout tracks, songs with especially high name recognition, or works that carry significance by representing major characters, maps, and narrative moments. Realistically, then, the BGM I personally want to hear has close to a 0% chance of being chosen—but if I had to pick, it would be the following.

These are the two tracks that play during the boss stages of The Seed. In particular, I am fairly certain that the BGM above used in the boss stages other than Dorothy’s would be especially exciting if given a grand orchestral treatment.

Of course, as noted, that does not seem especially realistic. So if the question is which tracks might have a somewhat better chance instead, then—given how many classic fan-favorite pieces have already been performed—it would be interesting to hear comparatively recent BGMs arranged for the stage. The selections below are simply personal picks, but recent MapleStory BGM includes so many strong tracks that I would like to see them used in some kind of arranged format even if not necessarily in a live concert.
