Hello.

This post focuses on game orchestras and the in-game BGM tracks I would like to hear performed live.

Before turning to my own selections, it is worth looking back at MapleStory's live orchestral concerts, which have drawn on the widespread appreciation for its BGM. At the time of writing, concerts have been held around 4 different themes, with enough success to support nationwide tours.

Previous MapleStory Orchestra Concerts

Where official live recordings or soundtracks are available on YouTube, I have included links below. The concert programs list the BGM tracks only by their original titles, so I have also included notes, originally written in Korean, explaining where each piece appears in the game to make them easier to identify.

Finally, the most recent concert, [Symphony of MapleStory New Beginning], was held in 2024. At present, little footage is available beyond what appears on the official promotional page and in the teaser video.

As the program shows, most of the pieces had already been selected for previous concerts.

BGM I Would Like to Hear on a Grand Scale

As the lists above show, concert selections tend to be widely acknowledged classics, particularly well-known tracks, or pieces with significance through their connection to major characters, maps, and storylines. I would therefore put the chances of my personal favorites being selected at essentially 0%, but these would be my choices:

These 2 tracks play during the boss stages of the Tower of Oz. I am particularly confident that the first, which plays in every boss stage except Dorothy's, would be exciting to hear with the full sound of an orchestra.

As mentioned, those choices seem unlikely, so it is worth considering tracks with a better chance of being selected. With so many older classics already performed, I would welcome the opportunity to hear some relatively recent BGM in concert. The tracks below are my personal selections, but there are many excellent recent pieces, and I hope to hear them in new arrangements or other forms even if they never reach the concert stage.

Seasonal boss 카이 BGM: Neo Vandalism

발드릭스 reward map BGM: After Ragnarok

Kaling phase 3 BGM: Ruination of Four Seasons

Athena Pierce boss BGM: Wind and Flower - Trial of Illusion

BGM for the second half of the 23rd anniversary event: Sparkling Festival of Maple Island
