When I’m gaming, I usually like to have something else playing in the background.

So today, I’m recommending 5 anime you can watch on Netflix!!

Yomi no Tsugai (April 2026 ~ currently airing)

The manga by Hiromu Arakawa, the creator of the timeless masterpiece Fullmetal Alchemist, has finally been adapted into an anime!!

Only up to episode 7 has been released so far, but every single episode has been exciting.

It follows the twins Yuru and Asa, who were born in the mysterious village of Higashimura,

and the people who control “Tsugai,” a kind of goblin-like being.

The idea of “a pair” keeps getting emphasized throughout.

New episodes are uploaded to Netflix every Sunday.

Honestly, the fact that it’s a new Hiromu Arakawa work already makes it interesting,

and if you enjoyed Fullmetal Alchemist, then while watching Yomi no Tsugai,

you’ll also have fun picking out little Fullmetal Alchemist character homages here and there.

Orb: On the Movements of the Earth (October 2024 ~ March 2025)

It’s the story of people who question geocentrism in a world where it’s treated as common sense, and go on to explore heliocentrism.

If you only hear the basic plot, it sounds like a pretty predictable story..

but the anime has this oddly immersive quality that just keeps pulling you in.

There’s also a character who is incredibly smart but has an almost devilish(?) personality,

and instead of sword-and-magic-style battles, the real appeal is the life-or-death tension that comes from knowledge.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Season 2, January 2026 ~ July 2026)

It tells the story of Frieren, an elven great mage who has lived for over 1,000 years,

and the journey she sets out on after the adventure ends to understand humans once again.

The warm art style and gentle story line

are lovely, but what really stands out is the deep aftertaste you’re left with.

Season 1 covers the early story after Frieren’s adventure ends and she sets off again, along with the First-Class Mage storyline.

Season 2 continues with Frieren’s party traveling through the Northern Continent.

And next October, Season 3’s Aureole arc is also scheduled to air!!

Witch Hat Atelier (April 2026 ~ currently airing)

It’s about the wizard “Qifrey,” who looks like Satoru Gojo,

“Coco,” who lost her mother because of forbidden magic,

and Qifrey’s apprentices.

More than anything else, the art style is absolutely insane.

Out of the anime I’ve seen recently, this might have the best art style of them all!!

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (2022, completed)

This is that legendary anime that absolutely blew up the game’s popularity..

Set earlier than the Cyberpunk game,

the anime tells the Night City story of the main characters David and Lucy.

I can’t believe I’m recommending this again.. it took so much to forget you..
