Hello,
I’m Jeymer, currently active as a Nexon Picker.

MapleStory has collaborated with an amazing variety of major anime over the years,
consistently giving players something fun to get excited about.

From One-Punch Man to Demon Slayer, and even Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, which has been a hot topic lately,
every new collab announcement has been such a welcome sight for me as an anime fan!
So today, I’ve prepared a masterpiece anime recommendation that can make every Maple player’s inevitable grinding sessions feel even more packed,
and one I’d absolutely love to see appear someday as an in-game collaboration.
A Masterpiece Anime Recommendation: One Piece!

The series I’m recommending today is none other than One Piece.
It’s such a famous title that it barely needs an introduction,
but for me, it’s also an anime tied to some especially dear memories.
Back in the day, the very first thing I did right after finishing the CSAT was start a full One Piece binge-watch.
I watched almost nonstop for a month, and somehow made it all the way to episode 700.
At the time, I was playing MapleStory 2,
and I still vividly remember styling my character after my favorite One Piece characters.

After that, I drifted away from it once I started college,
but recently, hearing the news about Netflix’s live-action Season 2 pulled me right back in!
That’s the power of a true masterpiece—it finds a way to bring you back no matter the era.
How the Maple World and One Piece Feel Alike

As I started rewatching One Piece from the beginning,
I realized all over again just how much it has in common with MapleStory!
Both are household names in their respective fields,
and both have built enormous fandoms
through decades-long serialization and live service, which makes the resemblance feel striking.

More than anything, the structure of moving through the story by visiting a new island or village with each episode,
meeting new people there and building bonds while steadily growing stronger,
feels incredibly similar to MapleStory.

Especially when I look at the maps of Arcane River or Grandis,
they give me the same kind of excitement as looking at One Piece’s sailing maps.

There’s also an interesting similarity in how both works handle their cast.
Compared to other shonen manga, One Piece tends not to kill off characters so easily,
and MapleStory has that same curious parallel, where monsters or bosses that were once enemies later reappear in a more familiar light,
forming a sense of bond with players!
The Ultimate Companion for Grinding Sessions!

If you’re a Maple player, having YouTube or an OTT platform running while grinding is basically an unspoken rule.
For anyone who’s always wondering what to put on next,
One Piece, with its staggering 1,100 episodes, is pretty much the ultimate pick.
Thanks to its huge story, even several grinding sessions
can disappear in the blink of an eye because it’s just that immersive.

I love One Piece so much that I recently went and bought a whole pile of merch in Japan,
so I’m genuinely hoping an official collaboration with MapleStory happens someday!
The merch in the photo above is only part of it 🤣

If that collaboration ever happens, then in the MapleStory World above,
just like the amazing looks talented players have recreated so beautifully,
official high-quality beauty items might finally become a reality ㅎㅎ
So that was my recommendation for a masterpiece anime that feels like a perfect match for MapleStory.
Which anime do you think would pair especially well with Maple?
If you have an all-time favorite anime of your own, be sure to share it in the comments!
