Hunting is an essential part of MapleStory, and an efficient gear setup can help keep it rewarding over the long term. Here's a quick guide to getting set up!

What Is a Farming Gear Setup in MapleStory?

Monsters on hunting maps have a chance to drop mesos, equipment, Sol Erda Fragments, Nodestones, and other items.

To earn more mesos or increase your chances of getting item drops, you'll need gear with the relevant stats: increased item acquisition and item drop rate.

Farming gear is especially important because of Sol Erda Fragments . These sell for around 6.5~7 million mesos each.

I get around 10 Sol Erda Fragments from 30 minutes of hunting. Including meso drops, that works out to about 130 million mesos every 30 minutes. That's a substantial amount, so the sooner you get your gear set up, the better.

Setting Up Your Gear

To build a farming setup, make or buy gear with “Mesos Obtained” or “Item Drop Rate”. Prices vary by equipment slot, with the cheapest Mesos Obtained earrings costing 200~300 million mesos.

Generally, the ideal setup is 100% Mesos Obtained and at least 66% Item Drop Rate, so keep those targets in mind!

You can also get Mesos Obtained and Item Drop Rate through Inner Ability. A Sunday Maple event with half-price Inner Ability resets is a good opportunity to set these up.

If you have mesos to spare, consider gear with 2 or more of these Potential lines. The cheapest pieces cost around 3 billion mesos, so this is an option for players who are serious about MapleStory. I own 4 items with 2 or more of these lines myself. Hahaha
