MapleStory Meso Farming Gear Setup Guide: Make Grinding More Efficient!

Hello to everyone who loves Nexon games,

this is Jaepamin!

MapleStory is almost like a marathon-style online game, since you need to build your character steadily over a long period of time. And to stay with the game for the long run, you need to actually enjoy it.

Since grinding is a core part of MapleStory, having an efficient item setup makes the game more enjoyable over time. So in this post, I’ll briefly go over how to set that up.

What is MapleStory farming gear setup?

When you hunt monsters in training maps, they can drop mesos, equipment items, Sol Erda Fragments, and Core Gemstones, among other rewards, based on a set probability.

If you want to increase the amount of mesos you earn or improve your item drop chances, you need to build your gear around the relevant options: increased meso acquisition and increased item drop rate.

One major reason farming gear setup matters is the presence of Sol Erda Fragments . Each one currently sells for roughly 6.5 to 7 million mesos.

In my case, if I grind for 30 minutes, I usually get around 10 Sol Erda Fragments. Including mesos, that works out to about 130 million mesos per 30 minutes. That’s a substantial amount, so the faster you finish your item setup, the better.

Item setup

For a farming gear setup, you can either make or buy items with “Meso Acquisition” or “Item Drop Rate”. Prices vary by equipment slot, and the cheapest meso-acquisition earring can be bought for around 200 to 300 million mesos.

In most cases, the ideal target is 100% meso acquisition and at least 66% item drop rate, so keep that in mind.

You can also cover meso acquisition and item drop rate through Ability. It’s especially useful to set this up during Sunday Maple when the half-price Ability event is active.

If you have enough mesos to spare, it’s better to get items with 2 or more Potential lines. The cheapest ones start at around 3 billion mesos. Players who are especially serious about MapleStory can use that as a reference. Personally, I own 4 items with 2 or more lines. Hahaha

If you want to enjoy MapleStory over the long haul, like running a marathon, item setup matters too. I hope this guide helps you get more out of the game. Thanks for reading!
