Today, I’m playing Mapleland for the first time in a while—but this isn’t the usual Mapleland. It’s 2.0 Tespia, which is still in testing and hasn’t officially launched yet. Let’s take a closer look at Mapleland 2.0 Tespia.

About Mapleland 2.0 Tespia

Mapleland 2.0 Tespia is a test server for Mapleland 2.0 that opened in the second half of April. This is a public alpha test, not an official launch. Compared with the existing Mapleland, Tespia feels more polished, capturing the feel of classic MapleStory. Let’s take a look.

Start Screen

Here’s the start screen, and it looks just like classic MapleStory. Tespia is the only server available so far, so it seems the broader server lineup hasn’t been introduced yet. Personally, I’d like to see servers such as Mardia and Scania added.

The character selection screen doesn’t look much different from those in other MSW servers or custom maps that recreate classic MapleStory. Now, let’s create a character.

The character selection screen offers Explorers, Cygnus Knights, and the hero Aran. I didn’t expect Cygnus Knights and Aran to be among the first options available on the test server. I chose Cygnus Knights.

I created a Cygnus Knight Noblesse character. Characters start at level 10, which suggests the tedious tutorial hasn’t been implemented yet. Let’s jump in.

Gameplay

Next up is job advancement. The available jobs are Dawn Warrior, Wind Archer, Blaze Wizard, Night Walker, and Thunder Breaker.

I wanted to become a Blaze Wizard, so I spoke to Oz. Her slightly flustered dialogue seems fitting for the youngest Chief Knight.

I’ll advance to Blaze Wizard, a job that uses fire magic and can summon a fire spirit to fight alongside the character.

Blaze Wizard job advancement complete! The red Magic Claw really stands out. Since this is a test server, you can also talk to Cassandra and select whatever you want.

Unlike in the previous Mapleland, there’s no longer any noticeable delay when traveling through portals. That keeps gameplay moving at a faster pace.

Closing Thoughts

That wraps up our look at the Mapleland 2.0 Tespia server. Even in testing, it’s already impressively polished. 메이플 플래닛, which has been popular lately, is also quite polished, but I’m especially curious to see how things will unfold if 2.0 gets an official launch.
