The most straightforward way to get stronger in Mabinogi Mobile

is to upgrade your gear through Engraving Enhancement.

With several NPCs offering Engraving Enhancement,

it can be hard to decide who to trust with your gear.

I only managed to get my first +15 weapon after hitting pity,

so believe me when I say my luck was downright terrible.

But one NPC helped even me get my hands on a +17 weapon.

Today, I'm sharing my personal recommendations for lucky enhancement spots.

The legend behind my first +16 success!

Edern in Bangor

My first lucky break came courtesy of

Edern, the blacksmith in Bangor.

He's currently the only NPC who handles Transcendent Engraving,

so you'll need to visit him for endgame upgrades anyway.

It was October 27, 2025,

about a month after the Season 1 update.

Since getting my weapon to +15, I'd mostly been enhancing armor and accessories,

but something came over me that day, and I took a shot at enhancing my weapon out of frustration.

To my surprise, it worked on that very first attempt.

To be clear, this wasn't immediately after reaching +15—

I'd already built up around 10% enhancement points by then.

And that's how Edern got me my first +16.

Being Ferghus's mentor gives him some credibility,

and he's a dependable blacksmith, so his forge gets my recommendation as a lucky enhancement spot.

Putting the misery of +15 pity behind me!

Nerys in Dunbarton

Nerys, the weapon shop NPC in Dunbarton,

brings back some painful memories for me.

It was July 28, 2025.

After one failed greatsword enhancement after another,

I finally reached 100% enhancement points and got my guaranteed +15.

The enhancement point pity system is a safety net,

but needing it at all means your luck was below average.

Fast-forward to May 5, 2026.

I'd reached +16 fairly quickly early in the season,

but perhaps that came at a price: my terrible luck persisted throughout Season 1,

and I was facing the prospect of hitting pity for +17.

My enhancement points had reached 88.8%.

That's when Nerys saved me from hitting pity,

and I finally got lucky with a successful +17 enhancement.

That incredible save made Nerys

my number 1 recommendation for a lucky enhancement spot.

Blacksmiths with

less convincing track records

Ferghus in Tir Chonaill

was notorious even in the original Mabinogi.

I'd think twice before trusting him with your gear.

As for 아르미스 in Colhen,

I haven't visited him much—not that I've been deliberately avoiding him.

As a result, I've never had him enhance any gear either.

Osla in Emain Macha

comes across as a little careless and not especially skilled,

but I wondered if she'd surprise me with her enhancement skills.

Turns out, she really wasn't very good.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend her.

If none of them appeal to you,

make your own lucky spot!

If you'd rather skip the blacksmith NPCs,

you can set up a campfire and use Engraving Enhancement there instead.

You can even enhance gear aboard your guild ship!

Trying different locations to find your own lucky enhancement spot

has a certain charm, if you ask me.

Thanks to Nerys, I avoided hitting pity for +17,

so I think I can reach +18 before Season 1 ends.
