I finally reached Pirate level 30. In MapleStory, hitting level 30 means your second job advancement is available. So now the time has come. How does a Pirate complete the second job advancement? Today, I will walk through that process.

Kyrin

To begin the second job advancement, you need to visit the job instructor. For Pirates, that instructor is Kyrin. So, let us start by speaking with Kyrin.

Kyrin asks whether you have already reached level 30. If you came to become an Infighter, she says you came to the right place.

Of course, nothing comes free. Kyrin tells you to prove the training and strength you have built up so far. An Infighter defeats enemies with nothing but their body and fists. When you think of an Infighter, fists are the first thing that comes to mind. If you want to become a truly powerful king of fists, you will need to prove yourself first.

Fortunately, the test itself is simple. You need to defeat a monster called Pirate Octopus and collect 15 Powerful Power Crystals. There is one condition, though: other skills and attacks will not work on the Pirate Octopuses, so you can only fight them with Straight.

Starting the Quest

Now, let us start the quest. To begin, speak to Kyrin and click the dialogue option I have something to tell you.

She then asks if you came to take the test and whether you want to enter the testing ground right away. If you select Yes, you can enter immediately.

Once inside the Pirate testing ground, there is one obstacle to get past before you can start defeating monsters. It is not difficult, though. Just jump over it and continue. There is really nothing to worry about here.

These small enemies are the Pirate Octopuses. They are level 35 monsters, but they are not especially strong. If you fight them using Straight, they will drop Powerful Power Crystals like this. Collect 15 of them.

Once you have finished your fist-to-fist conversation with the Pirate Octopuses and collected all 15 Powerful Power Crystals, the quest is nearly complete. To leave, speak to Kyrin on the left.

Second Job Advancement Complete

After that, speak to Kyrin again and show her that you collected all 15. At that point, you have truly proven your skill as a fist-focused Pirate. Speak to her one more time, and you will officially become an Infighter.

And just like that, I became an Infighter, the king of Pirate fists. The ultimate goal is the Pirate King.

If this were Maple Land, it probably would have been a little more difficult, but since this is Maple Planet, it felt quite easy.
